Kurtz Switches

NRO’s Stanley Kurtz has changed his mind on Miers:

When the Miers nomination was announced, I supported it. While I was mildly disappointed not to have a high-powered legal theorist, that issue was never a deal-breaker for me. I only changed because I began to doubt Miers’ conservatism.

This is, of course, the same reason I changed my mind on Miers. I’m not very concerned about resume or competence. Heck, I’d support a mangy yellow dog for the SCOTUS if the dog would consistently vote with Justices Scalia and Thomas. But everything we know about Miers suggests she’d be an O’Connor, not a Scalia.
