Spending

By Jayson ~ October 28th, 2005 @ 5:01 pm

The Agriculture Committee of the U.S. House voted on Friday to reduce federal spending in that arena by $3.67 billion, of which roughly $850 million is to be pared from the food stamps program (i.e., less than 2% of the budget for food stamps).

The roll call was:

Zero = Democrats in favor of less spending.
25 = Republicans in favor of less spending.

Zero = Republicans opposed to less spending.
20 = Democrats opposed to less spending.

Hmm, wait a minute.

Haven’t the MediaCrats rhythmically been chanting “profilgate federal spending” over the past several years?

But when given a chance actually to vote on a modest deficit-reduction plan their entire membership in that Committee said: “no?!”

I’m shocked by that outcome.

Why, I find that nearly to be as *stunning* as high crime rates, low student test scores, high poverty rates, low graduation rates, and high teen pregnancy rates in big liberal cities controlled for decades by Democrats.

P.S. – Here’s how Pravda-Reuters projected its antipathy for the GOP in connection with these matters. Not to be outdone, here’s how Pravda-AP projected its various mental disorders.

Cute, huh?
