Several days ago I prepared quick bios for some of the leading SCOTUS contenders. That list and the comments by our thread barons can be accessed by clicking here.
Since the Prez apparently might announce tomorrow the name of the actual nominee, I figured I’d go ahead and complete that list:
Diane Sykes
Age: 48.
Experience: Wisconsin Supreme Court; U.S. Court of Appeals, 7th Circuit.
Paper Trail: Yes. She’s been an appellate jurist since 1999.
Conservative: Yes.
9) Consuelo Maria Callahan
Age: 55.
Experience: California District Court of Appeal; U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit.
Paper Trail: Yes. She’s been on appellate benches since 1996.
Conservative: Yes, but on the issue of abortion she would not be acceptable to ardent pro-lifers.
10) Alice Batchelder
Age: 61.
Experience: U.S. Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit; U.S. District Court, N.D. Ohio.
Paper Trail: Yes. She’s been a federal judge for more than 20 years.
Conservative: Yep.
11) Maura Corrigan
Age: 57.
Experience: Michigan Supreme Court; Michigan Court of Appeals.
Paper Trail: Yep, she’s been on the bench for nearly 15 years.
Conservative: Indeed.
