The Winter Olympics
I love the Winter Olympics.
I got hooked back in 1980, when the U.S. hockey team beat down the Ruskies. Ah, yes, the “miracle on ice.”

In any event, here are the top-7 reasons why you should spend most of the next two weeks watching that glorious spectacle, as opposed to worrying about trust-funded liberal malcontents in the media or on campus:
7) Biathlon
They shoot at stuff with rifles.
‘Nuff said.
6) Bobsled
I get vertigo just watching these guys and gals, but the notion of hurtling across ice at 85 m.p.h. appeals to me.
5) Luge
Ditto.
4) Ski Jumping
The thrill of victory.
The agony of defeat.
3) Short Track Speed Skating
Eric Heiden meets roller derby.
I love that event.
2) Ice Hockey
‘Nuff said.
