2008 Presidential Race

American Research Group has an interesting batch of polling on Presidential match-ups in New England between Hillary Clinton and John McCain in New England: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

In Maine, McCain leads Clinton 46%-42%
In New Hampshire, McCain leads Clinton 52%-32%
In Vermont, McCain leads Clinton 47%-38%
In Massachusetts, McCain leads Clinton 48%-39%
In Connecticut, Clinton leads McCain 49%-39%
In Rhode Island, McCain leads Clinton 44%-40%

So there you have it. John McCain would defeat Hillary Clinton in five of six New England states. I’m not quite sure why McCain leads in Massachusetts, but not Connecticut, but regardless, this has to say something for Democrats who think there is some national renaissance for their party right now.
