The More Things Change (She Isn’t Perky, She’s ____?)
The more things change…well, you know the rest. Any Polipundit readers want to take a shot at identifying anything that will change at CBS News when Katie Couric takes over for Dan Rather? The announcement that she is leaving Today is expected in the second hour of tomorrow’s show. I still stand by what I said in January 2005 about CBS choosing Couric to replace Rather. I had a line, “Katie Couric isn’t perky, she’s evil,” that I liked to use when referring to Couric. I don’t use that line anymore because she isn’t actually evil (at least as far as I know). I think she is just clueless and hopelessly liberally biased. Seriously, how does anyone expect CBS News will change when Katie arrives?
Pat Hynes has more on Couric here. I am still backing away from the “evil” label, but after reading Pat’s post I am searching for another word to insert in my “she isn’t perky, she’s _______” line. Suggestions are welcome.
Update 4/5: Norm, a Texas Democrat, has submitted my favorite suggestion so far. He says Couric isn’t perky, she is all fluff.
