From Ron Fournier of the Associated Depressed:

McCain’s Straight-Talking Image Questioned

Ah, yes, I was wondering when the liberal Democrat media would turn on McCain.

I guess they’ve seen some of those early polls too, huh?

In any event, in between getting hammered on Merck & Co. and fleecing my mortgage customers, er, I mean brokering their loans, I’ve been thinking about the potential ‘08 scenarios. It looks as though McCain and Romney will head into 2007 as the leading GOP contenders, no?

Well, in either event that would eliminate the possibility of a pro-life, third-party spoiler candidate. Whatever you might think of those two men there’s no questioning either of their pro-life bona fides.

No MediaCrat Prez nominee has won a majority of the national vote since, you know, 1976. And in light of the post-2000 electoral re-apportionment I’m thinking we’ve basically reached the stage of the ongoing national re-alignment process in which the media/Democrats simply can’t win the Electoral College without ballot splitting by conservatives.

I’d say a McCain-led ticket would take 350-plus electoral votes. Whereas a Romney-led ticket — in light of his lesser built-in name recognition and that Mormon issue — would take about 280 (300?) electoral votes.

BTW, you’d be happy with McCain or Romney, wouldn’t you, Sullivan-Drezner?

Oh, right, never mind.
