Why Immigration Matters

In his post below, DJ lists a number of issues where the country would be hurt if Democrats were to take Congress. He uses this as an argument for conservatives to vote for even those Republicans who favor the illegal invasion of America.

But, to me, immigration trumps them all, and here’s why. The McKennedy amnesty, and other “guest” worker plans would do the following:

1. Add at least 12 million low-skilled, under-educated, poor menial laborers from Socialist countries to the voter pool. (Bear Stearns estimates this number to be 18-20 million.)

2. Admit another 400,000 low-skilled, under-educated, poor menial laborers from Socialist countries every year, and allow them to vote.

From a purely political perspective, mass immigration, like the GOP honchos are proposing, would doom the Republican party to permanent minority status, just like the Tories in Canada.

By 2050, we would be guaranteed to add at least 32 million new Democrat voters to the voting pool. Add their spouses, their children who will be born here, and others who will jump our borders to take advantage of future amnesties, and that number will balloon to 60-80 million.

George W. Bush won a total of 62 million votes in 2004. His margin of victory was 3 million votes.

From a purely social perspective, such immigration would also be a disaster, creating a resentful underclass of non-English-speaking menial laborers who would never believe in the American dream. Do we want France’s problems, multiplied by a factor of three?

The McKennedy amnesty would be the end of the Republic as we know it. Nothing – not lower taxes, not conservative judges – is worth that.

We conservatives are expected to go along with the destruction of the Republic, and vote GOP so that we can get lower taxes in the short term. Might I humbly suggest that President Bush and the GOP leaders in Congress instead protect the Republic by doing what their supporters want, by enforcing America’s laws?
