Orlando Homeland Security Grant

By Oak Leaf ~ June 6th, 2006 @ 2:12 pm

Last week, the Department of Homeland Security added “the city of Orlando and a 10-mile buffer to the list of Florida cities — Miami, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville — eligible for $765 million in grants. The money provides “resources for the unique equipment, training, planning, and exercise needs of select high threat urban areas.”

Personally, I just wish that Disney would get rid of those nasty machines that you need to put your fingers in to get into the parks. One “sick” terrorist could do a lot of harm simply by putting his fingers in one of those machines. Note: I have learned that you can bypass the finger machine if you show a photo ID.
