Tom Delay Goes, Redistricting Plan Stays
The Supremes uphold most of Delay’s republican friendly congressional district realignments:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld most of a bitterly contested Texas congressional map engineered by then-Rep. Tom DeLay to help solidify Republican control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Democrats challenged ruling in ’03, Democrats LOSE AGAIN:
The redistricting plan had been challenged by Democrats, minority groups and others who argued the 2003 plan had been motivated by unconstitutional political purposes.
The Kos Klowns are already wetting themselves over the decision:
When Republicans took over both chambers in Austin in 2002, Tom DeLay saw an opening, and convinced the Texas state legislature to redraw the map mid-decade to screw over as many Democrats as possible. And we know what happened there.
