“Centrist” On Immigration, Media Speak

By Oak Leaf ~ July 10th, 2006 @ 10:54 am

Last week, The Hill implied that the Republican Senators that backed the Reid-Kennedy Illegal Alien Bill were “centrist Republicans.”

“Democrats and centrist Republicans who back the Senate bill made plans this week”

Just a week earlier, the White House in a blast e mail referred myself to a poll, that I would have never known about, that showed that: (The White House did not mention this)

“A majority (51%) of all voters support treating illegal immigrants as felons so they would have to be deported, with 42% against and the balance “did not know”"

So, how does The Hill manage to figure that the Senate Republicans that support the Senate Bill are “centrist” when a majority of all voters, not just Republican, support the House position?

UPDATE: /sarcasm on/I get it now!!! The 42% that are against treating illegals as felons is in the “center” between the majority of 51% and the “don’t knows” /sarcasm off/
