It’s 10pm Do You Know If Your Child is Being Cyber Bullied?
I first thought this was a joke when I read it, but apparently these people are serious.
Bullying is no longer confined to school hallways and playgrounds. A new, dangerous and more insidious type of bullying is targeting children across America. Using e-mail, chat rooms, websites, instant messages and cell phones, anonymous cyber bullies are sending hurtful, embarrassing and threatening communications to classmates and other children.
…
Invest in Kids, will release the results of a randomized, national poll of kids aged 6 to 17. They also will release 10 tips for families to combat cyber bullying. They will call on every school to have proven bullying prevention programs and call for congressional action on an anti-bullying bill.

Bully prevention programs, surely they can’t be serious? With all that congress has to deal with do we really need to be spending time and I’m sure many more millions on an anti-bullying bill? We should not be trying to shield children from being called names, and direct threats over these communication means are already illegal in many cases so frankly I dont see the problem if little Jen or Johnny are being called fatties in emails, completely shielding kids from bully tatics is a disservice to them as it fails to prepare them for the real world. I have little doubt some GOP member will gladly take up this issue and mix it in with the “family values” agenda in time for election season, helping to continue the kittenization of America.
