Boehner on Border Security

Earlier this year, when Republicans chose Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) to replace Tom DeLay as majority leader, I was disappointed; earlier, Boehner was one of only 17 Republicans to vote against the House version of the immigration bill.
But Boehner has been a terrific Majority Leader since then. In a press conference today, he made the following statement (audio here):
Over the past couple of months we have heard directly from thousands of Americans that we have an emergency on our border. This emergency affects not just our border security, but our homeland security and our national security as well. We will respond with more border patrol agents, more enforcement, more fencing, and more technology. Congress will put legislation on the President’s desk this fall that will strengthen our borders.
