Democracy doesn’t work

Really!

Consider the following situations, in countries which held free and fair elections:

  • In Iraq, the Sunni Muslim minority is in open rebellion against the duly elected government
  • In Egypt, educated liberals protested the duly elected Muslim Brotherhood government, and the army staged a coup
  • In Thailand, the middle class is protesting the duly elected populist government, and demanding government by an un-elected council

These facts expose a problem with one-man-one-vote democracy: It is a necessary, but not sufficient, condition for a stable government.

America’s founders knew this. That’s why they provided for federalism, and constitutional checks and balances – so that majority rule did not degenerate into the tyranny of the majority. Other nations might have to learn that lesson the hard way.

Luckily we have leaders like McCain and Huckabee to lead us though.

Huckster compares the Tea Party to Nazism and thinks he should get to be the preznit.

Huckster compares the Tea Party to Nazism…

Yet he missed their Neville Chamberlain side.

    “Democracy doesn’t work”

Grossly inaccurate statement. Democracy works just fine. It depends who is allowed to vote. When the US constitution was put into place only white male property owners were allowed to vote. Over time all adults, literate or not, without any vested interest in the country were allowed to vote. Result? Financial destruction of the country as each political party pretends the laws of economics don’t apply to them.

Take each of the countries you mentioned: Egypt, Iraq and Thailand. Are the voters educated and literate? Do they have some vested interest (property) at risk? Do illiterate sweat shop workers have the power to vote on leaders who cater to their illiteracy?

We really don’t have a democracy with the pre-selected guaranteed outcomes defined by the courts.

We have come a long way, baby. But it’s not the fault of democracy.

What a stunningly stupid thesis you have cobbled together.

Firstly, correlation does not equal causation.

Secondly, your premise of “financial destruction of the country” is absurd, and probably self-serving.

Thirdly, you are conducting “class warfare” in your distinction of different voting groups. That is, of course, fine, but don’t pretend that class warfare is a tool solely used by Dems.

Sadly, your self-righteousness deafens you to any and all critique. You have too many defenses, layers of safeguards, that prohibit yourself to hear.

Ken has so many layers of defense when his stupidity is called out, but the fact remains: he made the stunningly asinine declaration that allowing people to vote has led to the financial ruin of the USA.

Senator Rand Paul to Offer Amendment Allowing Guns in Post Offices

    • Pluto on January 28, 2014 at 5:11 pm

Huh? Who’d a thought that going into a Post Office without a gun infringes on 2nd Amendment rights. Just tell your well-regulated militia (being necessary to the security of a free state) to wait outside. Buncha scaredy pants.

    • Walter Williamson on January 30, 2014 at 9:05 am

Conservative talk radio is uniting the right and Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and Rand Paul are galvanizing the GOP just in time for the mid-terms, while prezidunce Zero is sinking like a stone in the polls and 0bumblecare is wildly unpopular with ALL party groups including democrats. Looks like another Tsunami wave against the foolishness of liberalism is about to occur again. The idiot left will deny it as they tried during the first Tsunami against them but it matters not. The wave against the marxist progressive radicals is coming and they know it. Brace yourself, fools!

      • Walter Williamson on January 30, 2014 at 9:16 am

…and THESE are the people who will decide the 2014 elections. 0bama’s inept and failed preziduncey along with the massive failures and skyrocketing costs of 0bumblecare is going to sink a LOT of liberal progressive marxist pols, and not a momment too soon. BWAAAHAAHAAHAA!!! Brace yourself, fools!

        • Walter Williamson on January 30, 2014 at 9:19 am

That’s PA by the way! Way to crash and burn yet another midterm you incompetent and over-reaching liberal marxist fools. HAAHAHAHA!!! The Tsunami wave against your leftist overlords is coming. Brace yourself, fools!

          • Pluto on January 30, 2014 at 5:01 pm

Mid-term elections are always an opportunity for the disenfranchised such as yourself. But then, from your talking points you are clearly so far, far out on the right fringe that you will always be disenfranchised.

            Best of luck to you.

          • Walter Williamson on January 31, 2014 at 9:25 am

No “Luck” is needed. The failures of liberalism are clear and 0bumblecare is a proven failure that canceled millions of insured and doubled, tripled and quadrupled costs and deductibles. The Left will be punished for their failed ideologies and it’ll be enough to undo a lot of the failed idiocy your ilk has done. It’s not a matter of luck, Pluto, you idiots brought this on yourselves and your failed ideologies hold the principle blame. Too bad, your ilk continues to cling to such failures. Oh well, all the more lefty’s we will be able to destroy! BWAAHAHAHA!!!

GunOwnersofAmerica: Comprehensive Immigration Reform Would be the End of the Ballot Box

Immigration reform will add over 8,000,000 anti-gun voters to the voting rolls. There may be as many as 11.5 million persons illegally in the United States. And, a Pew poll from last year indicated that if illegal immigrants were given citizenship, they would vote for liberal, anti-gun candidates by an 8-to-1 margin.

This is exactly what happened to California — which was once a Red State. Because of the Simpson-Mazzoli amnesty bill of 1986, the state lurched violently to the left and now can’t pass gun control restrictions fast enough.

If this were to happen at the national level, we would lose the ability to stop massive gun bans and gun registration schemes. And all of this occurs at a time when a Fox poll shows the American people oppose Obama’s immigration policies by a margin of 36% to 54%.

The first reality is this: If the House passes ANYTHING, the Senate will tack on its amnesty bill and send it to conference. And the national conversation will turn off of ObamaCare and onto immigration.

  8. Tulipomania on January 28, 2014 at 4:04 pm

The Boehner-Cantor immigration bill will also be a Trojan Horse for their communist agenda.

It’s a push for a National ID (Real ID) and a Biometric Database. No one including illegals will be able to work without it.

I’ve never seen this so called terrorist group. Maybe you’re thinking of the Southern Baptists.

      • Walter Williamson on January 30, 2014 at 8:58 am

If you’re looking for U.S. based terror groups, then look no further than the Black Panthers and other w.underground groups who helped launch prezidunce Zero

Those are actual terror groups and not imaginary monsters under your bed, you ignorant little child.

        • Tulipomania on January 30, 2014 at 2:51 pm

Weather underground wasn’t a terror organization.

They ended the fake war in Vietnam and conscription movement and helped pardon Daniel Elsberg.

From the looks of your active imagination, they appear to be under your bed, Walter.
