Why immigration “reform” and gun control are different…

January 2, 2013

The fiscal cliff imposed a ticking time bomb on House Republicans. Unless they acted, taxes would shoot up for all Americans, who would immediately notice it in their paychecks. Gun control and immigration “reform” are fundamentally different because House Republicans can veto these things by simply refusing to vote on them. There are no immediate dire negative consequences for refusing to vote on these things. Sure, the Lying Liberal Media can bray; but they can only bray for so long.

Combine that with the looming fights over the debt ceiling, the spending sequester, and entitlement and tax reform, and these issues will be quickly moved to the back burner.

Let us hope they have the balls to do so, otherwise they are finished as a party.

Drunk Driving has killed more Americans every year than all of our wars since Vietnam ended. Abortions kill over a million unborn children every year. But those provide lawyer fees and reelection cash to Democrats, so they will never be discussed.

    • KevPB on January 3, 2013 at 8:47 am

The GOP house should write a bill, which outlaws every single medical instrument that is used to slaughter (murder) these millions of unborn babies.

Then, let the libturds see how absolutely absurd it is to attempt to outlaw inanimate objects instead of dealing with the actual ROOT CAUSE of problems.

Nah, it still won’t work though since the libturd left is too stuck on stupid to grasp it.

Says the troll from the party that uses a VERY tiny number of domestic violence cases to justify completely stripping the rights of MILLIONS of caring parents to have parental consent over their own children.

Democrats are the party of false equivalences and they use them daily to destroy the US Constitution and take away everyone’s personal liberties & freedom.

That doesnt appear to bother the hypocrites on the left even though their liberties & freedoms are also being dissolved. The lefty sheep are easily mislead by the false equivalences of their communist masters.

          • Tim on January 4, 2013 at 10:17 am

Also trolls red states have lawyers and even red states have elected democrats. In fact red states(like Missouri) may have voted Mitt but we have a democratic Gov. Also, trolls note what the original post said–since the end of the vietnam war drunk driving has killed more Americans. note that states have changed hues over the last 40or so.

Or are you saying that when California was reliably Republican during the 1970s and 1980s its drunk driving rates were high but that they dropped when they moved blue in the 1990s.

Christ talk about your faLSE equivalences. but what is really sad is if you were capable of logical thought you could probably mount a rationale response to the arguement but since your lazy and incapbale of that you simpy resort to some talking point that your lefty pals all spout when getting stoned or high. And of course since you cite no source for your assertion you could just be making the whole thing up.

          • The Trolls on January 4, 2013 at 10:33 am

Tim, Google “drunk driving fatalities among blue and red states.” You will find plenty supporting the positive correlation of drunk driving and red states.

Not that you have the capacity to own up to it.

You do know, don’t you, that drunk driving deaths are higher in the red states? Facts are stubborn things, and that one blows your argument out of the water.

Republican Congressman Lamar Smith’s breakthrough bill (LEGAL WORKFORCE BILL) H.R.2885 is filled with innovations to drive out illegal aliens from labor force, including mandatory E-Verify. For a while it was actually moving in Congress, now the whole policy has gone silent. We really need the Public to yell at their politicians in the state and federal offices, to make this bill a law. A good friend of mine who has three state licenses and two federal licenses for commercial air conditioning and heating has his hands tied because of the weight of Rules and Regulations. In the past his experience would earn him around $5.000 for installation, but now the same job would carry a charge of $15.000. In California he could be heavily fined and lose his license if the stringent laws were not applied. So what has happened, foreign nationals have slipped into this work, without bond or insurance, without the appropriate licenses and stealing legal contractors jobs without undue worry. Pass a well organized and a thoroughly vetted Guest Worker program that must leave on expiry of documentation. Bring to America a limited number of (STEM) workers, who are categorized as high on the career ladder of professional Scientists, Technological, Engineering and Mathematicians. But we MUST exempt the human penniless parasites that come here to live of the taxpayers.

To further expedite the removal of illegal aliens is a bill that would eliminate (BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP) H.R. 140 for children born to illegal aliens in the U.S as introduced by Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa. Current U.S. law automatically merits the smuggled children have a fabricated right to citizenship. Each year hundreds of thousands annually gain entry into the country for the very express purpose of creating a U.S. citizenship baby, which can become a conduit for many other family members. The U.S. is about 235 years old and in that time when someone was born in the United States they were instantly a U.S. citizen. The 14th amendment was to award the children of slaves and their descendants after the Civil War, not a doorway for foreign children to gain citizenship. The United States offers food stamps, aid to dependent families and free education to citizen children of other nations. Mothers come here to have a child-birth for free and then collect a lifetime of welfare payments. Now a new reality is upon us, with a high population in this nation and with a growing number of impoverished Americans. This country already is unable to properly take care of its itinerant populace, yet Washington keeps encouraging more and more illegal aliens for the benefit of unconcerned business owners. Both bills need recognition and swiftly moved through committees and read on the House floor and then the Senate. Without these two dormant bills are being enacted hundreds of billions of dollars are being appropriated from your payroll checks, for people who remain here illegally.

As I have repeated many times the financial implications for another Path to Citizenship or so named Amnesty is incredulous. The Heritage Foundation after analyzing such a gigantic undertaking has placed the price tag at $ 2.4 TRILLION DOLLARS. Obama must be out of his mind to even suggest yet more spending on the illegal aliens, as to do so is just going to drive more disadvantage people to this country even before such a imbecilic decision is made law. We cannot even get this Congress to sever spending when just the U.S. treasury 16 Trillion dollars and climbing is likely to go forward to the next level. Isn’t it time Washington politicians respect the laws already in the Federal Registry? They all should be tarred and feathered accept for a small minority, who believe in the “Rule of Law” and try to vote accordingly. We need more TEA PARTY representatives in the Congress, which are true to their word and will carry out the wishes of all THE PEOPLE. Our country is annually being placed on a slave auction block so lawmakers can offer special favors to the elites and all the special interest groups.

If you want further advice and information and are ready to investigate the lies of both the Democrats and Republicans, check out TEA PARTY, NUMBERSUSA, ALIPAC, JUDICIAL WATCH, FAIR, VDARE and AMERICAN PATROL. The American people should realize it is time for Public Campaign Contributions and not the theft of our liberties by the special interest groups of moneyed lobbyists, the wealthy, big unions, foreign governments, The United Nations, corporations (Domestic and International) and a whole range of other entities wrecking the tenets of this sovereign nation.

The strange world of the far right wing. Abortion is something destroying that nation and bringing Gods wrath upon the nation. Once that child is born it’s okay to gun the little prick down though because that is your God given right and don’t even go there with making sure they have food or shelter. We all know they are just damn anchor babies and people that want free stuff so fuck them!

    from Bloomberg News:

‘Barack Obama is the first president in more than five decades to win at least 51 percent of the national popular vote twice, according to a revised vote count in New York eight weeks after the Nov. 6 election.

    . . .

Obama is the first president to achieve the 51 percent mark in two elections since Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower, who did it in 1952 and 1956 . . .

Obama, 51, benefited from political factors that included a lack of serious opposition for his party’s nomination or from well-known third-party challengers, and an absence of social unrest, scandal or foreign-policy disasters during his first term, said Allan Lichtman, a history professor at American University in Washington.

“Under the big picture, this was an entirely predictable election outcome,” Lichtman said.’
