Americans deeply pessimistic

Barack Obama has “fundamentally transformed” a country of optimists and strivers into a nation of mopes:

40 percent report being hopeful about the next year, with 56 percent saying they are more fearful.

On the bright side: Expectations couldn’t be lower, so we might be pleasantly surprised!
