We suggest, they comply

December 3, 2012

PoliPundit, Thursday:

Give Obama what he wants: Restore tax rates to the Bush era for everyone making under $250,000.

ABC today:

Republicans are seriously considering a Doomsday Plan if fiscal cliff talks collapse entirely. It’s quite simple: House Republicans would allow a vote on extending the Bush middle class tax cuts (the bill passed in August by the Senate) and offer the President nothing more: no extension of the debt ceiling, nothing on unemployment, nothing on closing loopholes. Congress would recess for the holidays and the president would face a big battle early in the year over the debt ceiling.

I had forgotten the Senate bill. Reid probably wishes it didn’t exist right now.

Since Republicans have won the popular vote only once in the last six presidential elections, and that one time was the incumbent war pres W, maybe it’s time to think seriously about secession. I think the red states would make a pretty impressive nation. I mean really, what do Wyoming and Vermont have in common? Or Oregon and Oklahoma? Or Mass and Ala? Who today, would give their life in a war to maintain a union between such different places?

Are you saying the republicans will suddenly grow a backbone? I am disgusted with them The so-called leaders are nothing but democrat lite. Shame on Boehner and his disciples in the House. They are doing the republicans no favors by caving to the democrats. Does Boehner really think we are so stupid we won’t know when he caves?
