The only bright spot from last night

Was marijuana legalization, here in Washington state. That should make the decline more comfortable…

America has gone to POT. Literally.

Obama’s re-election will be the Black Swan event that sends Europe into tailspin and takes the Dow off the fiscal cliff. That was sort of his plan to begin with.

Yeah, the Euros are allowed to acknowledge the depth of their crisis now that the election is done.

      Deal with it.

      • Dismantle ObamaCare on November 7, 2012 at 11:45 am

Herman – get some help. You sound like a bored Nazi who isn’t happy with just taking one of Sophie’s children. You need both.

Hey Herman, you forgot that you also live here so it goes down your throat also. When you are standing in the rationing line waiting on your healthcare don’t complain. Just think about all of us conservatives that tried to tell you.

There were few bright spots, primarily House races.

Rush Limbaugh was commenting on the exit polls and how successful the emotional appeal the Democrats made was as many of those polled described Barack Obama as a compassionate man who cares most about the middle class and what’s best for America.

Of course, Hurricane Sandy and Chris Christie helped too.

Detroiters elect 8-time felon to state house:

The district includes the upscale Groose Pointes.

    • Gerry Owen on November 7, 2012 at 12:12 pm

Of course they did- its detroit, buch of parasitical looters.
Who better to steal and play Robin Hood with a bag full of goodies than a convicted felon?
My new plan is to invest in guns, ammo, and canned goods. The simple truth, there is not enough of the ever shrinking pie to pay for all the free shit the looting hordes want.
Economic Growth is not keeping up with population growth, and there are more people going on the dole than jobs being created.
The Debt Bomb is going to explode, SOON. The total of unfunded Liabities (upcoming projected debt) from all of the already established goodies Government has promised makes the $16 Trillion we owe already seem paltry.

And America has signed on to go forward off the cliff.
I hope, as Poli does, that it will be a smooth ride to oblivion, but the climate of the world- Mideast tensions, the Eurozone implosion, the bubble that is China’s economy, etc. Make that unlikely.

I live in the Detroit area. Mack Avenue is the dividing line between detroit and the Grosse Pointes. It’s amazing, but the Detroit side looks like it was a bombed out village while 100 yards to the east in Grosse Pointe, the lawns are beautiful and the houses are well-maintained. Of course, the Grosse Pointe side is well-policed.

I live in the Detroit area. Mack Avenue is the dividing line between Detroit and the Grosse Pointes. The west side of Mack (Detroit) is a mess with garbage all over. The east side (Grosse Pointes) have well-kept homes and yards. Of course, the area is heavily policed.

    Another bright spot:

    Rush Limbaugh comes clean!

“This was not a conservative campaign.” – Rush Limbaugh

Well, Duh! But I would venture to guess that many on this board/blog thought it was!

Hey, get Ron Paul nominated next cycle and I’ll vote for him.

      • bc3b on November 7, 2012 at 7:03 pm

        Jim –

You live in California so your vote doesn’t matter. Sorry about that.

        Poli’s vote doesn’t count either.

        • Goonions on November 7, 2012 at 11:31 pm

This is my question. Given the demographics now why don’t conservatives just ditch these states that are goners and move to a swing state to load it up with conservatives. Like you said, the east and west coasts are just lost votes.

I doubt Ron Paul would run in 2016 due to his age. Perhaps his son (Rand Paul) or someone else who is a small government Conservative who espouses Constitutionaly limitied government, sound money, and personal freedom. I think this would be very successful as many Americans are fiscally Conservative and socially Moderate (or slightly Right of Moderate). But its clear that the GOP Establishment types love the power that Big Government brings them so they want to push a Rockefeller-type Republican on us, which clearly isn’t working as the public doesn’t get excited about a fake Conservative — even when put up against someone as crappy as Obama. Either the GOP power brokers need to change or be tossed out. Or Conservatives will have to disown the GOP and all their ‘electability’ Bullshit (and other political dirty tricks) and they (Conservatives) will have to form another Party.

There is another bright spot. America proved yesterday that they have enough brains not to vote for a liar like Romney and a stupid loser like Ryan. Another bright spot the Democrats have more time to save the economy from the damage the GOP did and they have been kept from destroying what’s left of it.

  7. I AM ON on November 7, 2012 at 2:25 pm

I didn’t think many months ago that Obama had a chance at winning. Like I said a long time ago it was Romney’s election to lose. Well he did. Worst ran campaign in recent history. The man proved beyond a doubt that he was unqualified for the job.

As long as the Tea Party has some control over what comes out of the mouths of GOP candidates it will be impossible for the GOP to win an election.

Funny how surprised so many of you were. Well if you didn’t live inside the GOP alternate reality bubble you might have had a clue.
