Score one for Santa in the War against Christmas, as Columnist Linda Chavez reports that “The Christmas trees are back up at Sea-Tac Airport in Seattle after they were taken down in response to a threatened lawsuit.”

One of my faves, Ann Coulter, opines that the Democrats are setting themselves for defeat; “So it is understandable that some might interpret their midterm gains as a mandate for another humiliating defeat.”

Is B. Hussein Obama hot because Hillary’s cold ? Geroge Will thinks so; “Nimble and graceful Barack Obama became the Democrats’ Fred Astaire, adored because of, well, perhaps the way he wears his hat, the way he sips his tea. And the way he isn’t Hillary.”

Were voters tired of GOP Hypocrisy ? Senator Judd Gregg not only thinks that, but believes they were justified; “(Republicans lost) in large part because they were tired of our hypocrisy as a party on the issue of fiscal responsibility. And it would appear that their concerns are justified.”

Give that man a cigar!! Senator Tom Coburn led the effort in killing a bill that would make Clinton’s birthplace a national monument. “Michael Teague, a spokesmen for U.S. Senator Mark Pryor, D-Ar., who has taken up the legislation on the designation from the House, said Monday that U.S. Senator Tom Coburn, R-Okla., had killed the bill for this session of Congress.”

Make that 2 Big Mac’s please: “The government has no right to dictate to restaurants what they can or cannot serve, and it has no right to dictate to individuals what they can or cannot eat. Individuals should be free to judge for themselves what foods to eat, including if and when to eat foods with trans fats. Those who believe that trans fats are unhealthy are free not to eat food that contains them–and free to persuade others not to sell or consume them. They have no right, however, to dictate the recipes of restaurants.” – Dr. Yaron Brook, executive director of the Ayn Rand Institute
