Could Republicans pick up a Senate seat in… Minnesota?

Sleeper race:

Pete Hegseth, a 31-year-old Iraq and Afghanistan war veteran and the former director of Vets for Freedom, may be the GOP’s best chance to defeat Amy Klobuchar, Minnesota’s first-term Democratic senator. But he first has to win the endorsement of the state Republican party.

[…]

Hegseth launched his Senate campaign in March, after having returned from his last tour in Afghanistan, and raised over $160,000 his first month on the trail. Klobuchar, a reliable liberal vote for the Democratic majority in the Senate, is popular in Minnesota, but Hegseth says he can make the case that the senator’s moderate image at home contrasts with her voting record in Washington. Minnesotans, Hegseth’s thinking goes, just need to learn how liberal that record is.

Posts on everything but the candidate. Good thinking Poli he’s doing a pretty good job of sinking his campaign on his own.

He actually went so far as to make Carter looker tougher than himself today. Not an easy task. Its going to be interesting seeing if Romney will be able to go a week without sticking his foot in his mouth or flip flopping on something he said in the past. .

    Hey I am:
Consider this. Should you lose Minnesota you are probably looking at losing the ability to filibuster the Senate. The fact that his guy has a remote chance, should give you pause.

Expect the Defeatocrats to become ever more shrill and leftist as the election draws closer.

Expect them to try to postpone the election somehow.

They can’t win without cheating, even in their own camps. http://dailycaller.com/2012/04/30/jon-lovitz-doubles-down-on-obama-is-a-fking-ahole-comments/

UF the way I see it beating Obama should be a cinch. Romney might be the man capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory though.

Keeping up the attacks on women rights, fevered race hate, being obstructionist, anti-science, whining about killing bin laden (actually making the Dems look stronger on defense than the GOP) and thats just in the last 3 days.

I can’t really fault the GOP. With the economy teetering they might as well give Obama a few more years to bring it back from the edge before another GOP set of deregulation that leads to a huge ripoff of the average Joe while claiming to be fiscal conservatives.

Yeah, in Minnesota, the Paulbot likely has a better chance at this seat than the typical RINO fav. I doubt the Beltway RINOs are going to be spending any cash on any of these Minnesota candidates, as they have better things to spend their RINO cash on, like Lugar and Hatch and Brown and all their other RINO buddies. So better for we conservatives to support the MN candidate who’s got some voter enthusiasm behind him, and that appears to be the Paulbot.
