What if the Supreme Court overturns Obamacare?

Does that benefit Obama, as some sour-grapes liberals are now claiming?

I very much doubt it.

Obama’s biggest asset – and that of ultra-liberal politicians in general – is the perception that they are in the majority, and we isolated conservatives will be relegated to the ash heap of history. That perception is zealously protected by the Lying Liberal Media, who downplay stories that could puncture it. As New Yorker film critic Pauline Kael famously said after Richard Nixon won a 49-state victory, she didn’t know anyone who voted for Nixon.

But, if the Supreme Court overturns Obamacare, it will provide a boost of confidence to us Eeyore-ish conservatives. We are not alone! Liberalism can be rolled back! If it bleeds, we can kill it.

Obama will have been exposed as an impotent failure, and his signature “achievement” will have been consigned to the ash heap of history. It will be a very long time before anything like Obamacare is pushed on the nation again.

Meanwhile, Obama’s supporters will be even more demoralized than they are now. Their messiah as president, a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, and a large majority in the House, and what do they have to show for it?

Obamacare? Nope.

Rolling back the Bush tax cuts? Nope.

Closing Guantanamo? Nope.

An immigration amnesty? Nope.

Cap-and-tax? Nope.

Instead they get the Lily Ledbetter Act (look it up) And corporate bailouts as far as the eye can see.

Do you think liberals will drag themselves out of bed to vote for four more years of that??

The Supreme Court’s overturning of Obamacare will be a heartening boost to conservatism, and one of the best things to happen to this country in many years. Onward and upward!

Every Republican running for Congress against a Democrat incumbent will be able to charge him/her with having abused the power of the Democrat majority in order to ram through an unconstitutional monstrosity. All Democrats will be vulnerable to this charge.

The only problem is if Mitt Romney is the nominee having passed the same thing, and not being abe to make a conservative case, as he is not a conservative, and would have reset his Etch-aSketch to me-too dash to the center.

I agree with Jose. If the ACA is nixed, some on the left will try to suggest that it’s no worse than when GWB lost the Gitmo case in the Supreme Court. But Bush’s policies regarding the War on Terror were fairly popular, and in any case most people didn’t really care that much about the rights of terrorists being held at Gitmo. Obamacare is different. It’s very unpopular, and if it’s unconstitutional, then the voters themselves are the victims of that unconstitutional overreach by Obama and the Dems.

@ MikeN: Even if you don’t think Romney is a genuine conservative, I don’t see how you can say he can’t make a conservative case. What positions is he advocating in this election that brand him as a liberal?

The main problem for Obama if he loses the Supreme Court case is that it’s going to make his entire term in office look, at best, like a huge waste of time (and at worst, simply a disaster for the country):

HC reform: Didn’t even survive consitutional challenge.
Stimulus: Huge debt added; no boon for employment.
Green jobs: Solyndra fail; Chevy Volt fail.
Afghanistan: We’re twisting in the wind; Afghan military now shooting our boys.
Race relations: Trayvon Martin, Black Panthers, Al Sharpton, Eric Holder, etc.
    Economy: Still sucks.

It’s not that Romney is taking liberal positions, which he is not. I think in the general he will take some liberal positions, but my point here is that he can’t make a conservative case. Romney is a technocrat. This is how he ended up with a mandate in Massachusetts to begin with, trying to figure out how to make things work.

Willard has taken every progressive position in the book, and shaken the Etch-A-Sketch as necessary whenever those positions are challenged. From Bailouts to Porkulus to Global Warmingism to ObomneyCare to $50 taxpayer paid abortions to Quantitative Easing to… well, you name it… he’s supported it… at least until the next shake of his Etch-A-Sketch.

He’s a lying progressive crapweasel, and always has been.

But, if the Supreme Court overturns Obamacare, it will provide a boost of confidence to us Eeyore-ish conservatives.

Well, Poli, it will provide a boost to we conservatives, but for you RINO progressives and your boy Willard, it’ll just offer you an opportunity to sell socialized medicine, like Willard and Teddy Kennedy did with ObomneyCare.

I can’t wait to see this crapweasel bending over, if this decision goes down. It’s gonna be hilarious, and the Obamabots know just how to work this tool, just like they did in Taxachusetts. I’m fully expecting this crapweasel to campaign on ObomneyCare and a full La Raza platform, before November. He’s not going to wait… his shysters have already informed us the Etch-A-Sketch is about to get shook.

Things Our “Flexible” President May Do When He Is Re-elected

Barack Hussein Obama is so cocksure of re-election that he is making plans for 2013-2016.

Obama made that surety obvious when he pulled yet another gaffe in South Korea by not realizing he was speaking with a hot mike as he whispered to the outgoing Russian figurehead President Dmitry Medvedev.

    The surreptitious exchange:

Obama: On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space.

Medvedev: Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you…

Obama: (reaching over and putting his hand on Mr. Medvedev’s knee): This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.

Medvedev: I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.

America’s commander-in-chief essentially promised to give away America’s European missile defense secrets to Russia after he wins in November, that he would share vital, military information with the incoming Russian fraudulent President Vladimir Putin since he will have fooled the American electorate once again.

That treasonous plot with the nation against which we waged a decades-long Cold War and which Mitt Romney called America’s “number one geopolitical foe” has raised suspicions on what else Obama has hidden up his sleeve, as if outright presidential treason were not enough.

Based on the president’s words and actions over the past four years, here are some educated guesses on what Americans can expect by 2016 or sooner should he win four more years to perpetrate more treason, wreak havoc with our economy, undermine our international standing, and convert the country into a Third World nation:

. Israel will be abandoned despite Obama’s pledges to the contrary, Venezuela will become a trusted ally, and the 50 year old sanctions against Cuba will be lifted. (Obama and his administration have frequently demonstrated an antipathy to Israel and an affinity for all things Islamic, have indicated they want Hugo Chavez to be a buddy, and have a special affection for Communism.)

. The United Nations will be recognized as the preeminent authority to dictate America’s foreign and domestic policy. (Obama is a professed “One-Worlder” who sees the U.N. as the one organization capable of insuring peace and tranquility throughout the planet.)

    . Attorney General Eric Holder’s racist and corrupt DoJ . . .

Obama could be unanimously thrown out of office and the MSM would still insist that it is somehow positive for Democrats. This is the typical liberal spin job, trying to convince as many gullible people as possible that the ship isn’t sinking. They will continue to spin until the last possible moment and then feign surprise when the Democrats lose the White House (along with the Senate).

The reality is that the MSM will succeed in convincing a good number of gullible people. I know these people exist because there was a ton of them who voted for Obama even though they disagreed with every single thing Obama stood for.
