Warning – verbosity below…also Captain Ron in his own words…
Some are saying that Romney is no different than Obama, that as one noted commenter here put it in a purely objective, non-emotional and non-religiously biased way, he is a “lying, flip flopping Obambi clone mormon [sic] RINO hack” and a “crapweasel”.
Lots to overlook to be able to vote for him, no doubt. I’ve also been instructed that I’m woefully misinformed by the MSM about Crazy Ron being an isolationist and that Captain Ron is the one true conservative in the race.
Maybe…but maybe not.
We have shown this Jon Huntsman ad that is running in Iowa:
From the Weekly Standard on December 26th in a post titled, “Ex-Aide Says Ron Paul Is a 9/11 Truther & Isolationist Who Thinks U.S. Shouldn’t Have Fought Hitler“:
A former Ron Paul staffer named Eric Dondero, who worked closely with the Texas congressman and presidential candidate over the course of 15 years, has issued a statement in which he both defends his old boss from charges of racism and anti-Semitism and reveals damning new details about about the “sheer lunacy of [Paul's] foreign policy views”.
First, Dondero claims that his old boss is such an extreme isolationist that “he strenuously does not believe the United States had any business getting involved in fighting Hitler in WWII. He expressed to me countless times, that ‘saving the Jews,’ was absolutely none of our business.”
Second, Dondero writes that that Paul himself is a 9/11 conspiracy theorist:
He engaged in conspiracy theories including perhaps the attacks were coordinated with the CIA, and that the Bush administration might have known about the attacks ahead of time. He expressed no sympathies whatsoever for those who died on 9/11, and pretty much forbade us staffers from engaging in any sort of memorial expressions, or openly asserting pro-military statements in support of the Bush administration.
And lastly, Dondero reveals that Paul wanted to vote against the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 but lacked the courage of his convictions to do so:
There is much more information I could give you on the sheer lunacy of his foreign policy views. Let me just concentrate on one in specific. And I will state this with absolute certainty:
Ron Paul was opposed to the War in Afghanistan, and to any military reaction to the attacks of 9/11.
That’s not me talking, that is a former aide who worked with Ronnie for 15 years. Dondero is actually defending Paul from allegations of racism and anti-Semitism that Huntsman raises via Ron’s newsletters from back in the day. Dondero points out that while Paul isn’t an anti-Semite, he is anti-Israel – I don’t really know how that works, but OK…maybe the Paul camp should ask Dondero not to help so much.
His full statement is at RightWing News here. John Hawkins is not the MSM, far from it – he is a respected member of the conservative blogosphere.
Ace at AOSHQ hits the Supreme Grand Poobah of Planet RonPaul over his attempt to explain away his old newsletters, some predicting a race war and some stating that 95% of blacks were either criminals or engaged in criminal activity:
Oh, here’s some more Ron Paul: I wrote most of the newsletters but not the “ten” or so sentences people don’t like. Someone else (who? it’s a mystery!) wrote those.
Dude, it’s more than ten damn sentences.
He also confesses he wrote the “economics” parts, which is alarming, because racism, antisemtisim, and homophobia I understand. I get those. Those are kind of normal. I know how to deal.
The stuff I don’t know how to process is an adult man freaking out over the “ugly” “New Money.” Like a, what’s the word?, bloody lunatic.
When Crazy Ron isn’t probing the mysteries of 9/11 Truth, he seems to be spending time praising Occupy Wall Street:
While campaigning in Iowa on Wednesday, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul praised the Occupy Wall Street movement, comparing it to the Tea Party movement. “In many ways, I identify with both groups,” Paul said. Both groups are fed up with problems in Washington and “the two-party-system,” Paul said while speaking at an insurance company in Des Moines.
Ronnie’s “surge” is also getting help from some strange places. Think the Democrats might see a Ron Paul win in Iowa as a chance to paint the Republican Party with a Paulinian brush or maybe a third party spoiler ala Ross Perot?
Praising the left-wing Occupy Wall Street movement is an unusual move for a Republican presidential candidate, but Ron Paul is, of course, an unusual Republican presidential candidate. He jumped to first place in the Iowa caucus polls partly because of support from people who aren’t Republicans. His comments that members of the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street are unhappy with the “two-party system” could fuel speculation that Paul will make a third-party bid of his own–something he has not ruled out.
Maybe we should just watch out for the Bilderbergers and the Illuminati:
Maybe I just missed where the Israelis created Hamas so that they could be bombed. I guess Jews just love persecution and all that sympathy they get from the UN (that last part about the UN was, of course, sarcasm). I guess I was too busy marveling over Ron’s support for IRAN…
The Weekly Standard is admittedly no Paul fan and is firmly in the Romney camp – but that doesn’t change the facts on the ground and Crazy Ron’s own words.
There is an old joke that I think of every time I see or hear a Paulbot speak…
A psychology student at a local university was sent on a field assignment to evaluate three patients in a local mental hospital.
The first patient was locked in his room throwing tennis balls everywhere. The student asked why, and the patient answered “When I get out of here I am going to be a tennis pro.
The second patient was locked in his room throwing baseballs everywhere. When asked why he said “When I get out of here I am going to be a professional baseball player.”
The student thought he was starting to get the hang of things, until he looked in on the third patient. There locked in the middle of the room was a naked man, masturbating with a large can of peanuts on the end of his penis. The student asked, “I understand about the others, but what are you going to be when you get out of here?”
“They’re never going to let me out of here,” the patient said “I’m f*cking nuts!”
Ron Paul may look good on his stands on the Constitution but there is a lot to overlook to vote for Crazy Ron…but if you don’t buy a ticket on the Paul Crazytown Express Train, you are a valueless crapweasel RINO.
Kind of makes MassCare seem a little less damaging to Romney when compared to this, now doesn’t it?
