I’m officially on the Cain Train.
A few days ago, Herman Cain endured an idiotic and completely disjointed attack by one of MSNBC’s least intelligent hosts, Lawrence O’Donnell. Achieving that title is no small feat on a “news” channel that features the likes of Chris “Tingle” Matthews, Ed “Sweaty Fat White Guy” Shultz and the resident lesbian “intellectual”, Rachel Maddow, but Larry outshines the rest when it comes to ignorance.
O’Donnell seemingly had no other purpose in the interview than to attack Cain for 1) being a draft dodger and 2) not sufficiently meeting the liberal/”progressive” definition of “black”.
Real Clear Politics has this:
…the GOP presidential candidate remained poised throughout.
Mr. Cain worked for the Navy in the field of ballistics during the war. Lawrence O’Donnell? He received a deferment since he was attending college.
O’Donnell tried to paint Cain as some sort of traitor to blacks because he didn’t participate in protests and sit-ins during the Civil Rights era.
“Progressives” and the leftist media in America have a very narrow definition of being an “authentic black” and therefore allowed credibility to speak. For an ideology that constantly intones the mantra of “race equality”, the “progressives” sure do spend an inordinate amount of time segmenting people into specific groups. They only embrace a “black” if they are:
- Dependent on or openly support the welfare state (a Democrat)
- Have been granted preferential treatment via affirmative action yet are willing to criticize America for how “unfair, discriminatory and racist” we are…(a Cornel West type of Democrat)
- Believe in reparations or that American society has not advanced since the Civil War (a Tavis Smiley/BET Democrat)
- You hold collectivist/communist views (again, a Democrat)
- You are currently a member of the Nation of Islam/New Black Panther party or have held or do hold some Islamic or black nationalist views (or have at least had a video made of you by Andrew Breitbart)
One of the “accepted facts” of “progressives” and the leftist media is that in order to be sufficiently “black”, you only have to meet one major criterion – you have to be a “progressive”. They love to talk about the Tea Party employing “dog whistle” code where only the Tea Party can hear the racist instructions broadcast when the phrase “taxed enough already” is uttered. For MSNBC and their leftist comrades in the MSM, conservative blacks must resonate at a frequency outside the 400 to 780 Terahertz range of the visible spectrum because they simply can’t see them – and therefore they don’t exist.
Cain hit the Left where it hurts when he attacked the propaganda of the “progressives” and their willing accomplices in the MSM.
“African-Americans have been brainwashed into not being open minded, not even considering a conservative point of view,” Cain said on CNN’s “The Situation Room” in an interview airing Wednesday between 5-7 p.m. ET. “I have received some of that same vitriol simply because I am running for the Republican nomination as a conservative. So it’s just brainwashing and people not being open minded, pure and simple.”
Back to RCP (there is video):
“I did not insult the intelligence of all black Americans,” Herman Cain said about his ‘brainwashing’ comment. “I insulted the attitude of those that will not consider an alternate idea.” He also said black voters “did not consider my statement insulting because a lot of them are thinking for themselves.”
“Now, if they want to talk about insulting, they need to look at the president when he talks to the Congressional Black Caucus and insulted black people, in my opinion, by telling them to take off their slippers and put on their marching boots when he has had nothing but failed policies,” Cain said in response to Lawrence accusing him of insulting black Americans.
Leaders like Col. Allen West, J.C. Watts, Clarence Thomas, Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell and Herman Cain simply don’t exist to these “progressives” because they don’t fit the mold of a person who cannot succeed without the assistance of a big government welfare state.
The media spent the greater parts of 2007 and 2008 trumpeting a “black” man for president…this “black” man fit their paradigm even though he is really not “black” – he is bi-racial. He is the progeny of a liberal white woman and an African communist, reared in a counter-culture/leftist environment, dabbled in Islam, had a liberal college pedigree via Occidental and Columbia, benefited from racial preferences while graduating from Harvard Law, worked in a liberal law firm, became a community organizer, listened to 20 years of black nationalist sermons from Jeremiah Wright while becoming a Chicago machine politician and then initiated a far left presidency, the most so since FDR.
In so many ways, Herman Cain is the antithesis of Obama. Cain’s bio at Cain 2012 illustrates a legacy of achievement, not inside a safe, paternalistic political and social system but in the arena of free enterprise. Cain holds an undergraduate degree in mathematics and a Masters in computer science from Purdue. He has held a wide range of positions in companies from the ground up – from the bullpen to the boardroom. He represents a resume of true, concrete and tangible accomplishment as opposed Obama’s history of theoretical, “soft” presumptions of accomplishment (remember that Obama is the only man who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for what he might, perhaps, maybe someday become rather than for something that he has actually, you know, done).
Cain is also a Christian pastor and a man of solid conservative beliefs.
MSNBC has decided that he must be destroyed. This proves that their pimping for a black president wasn’t about racial equality at all, it was always about ideology – that this misrepresentation of their intent makes them the racists.
Just the fact that MSNBC and other liberal outlets are out to destroy Cain would be enough to support him but that’s not why I am going to. Cain is a Christian, a man of integrity and a solid conservative. Cain is able.
I support Herman Cain for the Republican nomination and his election in 2012 as the next President of the United States.
