Romney trounces Perry in Michigan straw poll

51-17.

As I’ve noted before, Romney has some idiosyncratic strengths in key swing states:

  • Michigan, because his father was governor, and his family has a history there,
  • New Hampshire, because it’s next door to Massachusetts, and he has a home there, and
  • Nevada, because of its large Mormon population.
In a general election, these swing states count for 26 electoral votes, almost as many as Florida’s 29.

I wanted Mitt over John McCain but mainly because I don’t like the Senator’s voting record. I am tired of having to pick the lesser of two bad candidates and I hope that other Republicans feel the same way and will support Herman Cain in 2012.

Talking about Romney like he’d a good thing is troubling. It’s just that everyone else is worse.

I’d take Cain over Romney, any day.

Bachmann looks to be in trouble, and that is too bad, even though she did it to herself.

I don’t gt why santorum is not doing better, he is a solid conservative.

  4. rightwingyahoo on September 25, 2011 at 9:40 am

Perry needs to drop out, then all guns on Romney.

Blowhard, and moralist. We need a reset now, not a pastor. The truth is, we do need a pastor, but that is getting the cart before the horse.

Not the way it works in your personal life, but imo, the right must show results BEFORE it can preach……

  6. rightwingyahoo on September 25, 2011 at 9:43 am

If Perry dropped out, Bachmann would move up. Good for America.

I’m coming around on this Perry thing. Let’s just harden up and throw him right out the helicopter door and let him flail at the air. Then we can turn to Senor ObomneyCare sitting one seat over on the chopper, who wants to hand out green cards to all the illegals just like Senor Perry, and give them a “path to citizenship”. If we play it right, we can have him flailing at the global warming air, too.

    Poli,

Be careful with the Michigan thing. Anything happening on Mackinac Island generally involves pure RINO insiders, and they’re often bought off. And Willard has been buying those very guys off for a decade now. He’s got every RINO alive here on board, including Governor RINO. He’s got Schwartz big on his campaign, that RINO hack we primaried back in ’06 in MI-7, which quiet as it’s kept, was the first fightback and electoral origin of the Tea Party… way back in ’06. That primary was HUGE, imo. Walberg couldn’t hold the seat in the ’08 wipeout, but came back in a ’10 rematch and now he’ll be there for a while. Schwarz then proceeded to register as an “independent”, and has been whining at conservatives for 5 years, but is now flacking for Willard. That’s telling.

If Willard is the nominee, it’ll be a godsend for the union hacks. They destroyed Devos in 2006 against Governor Granholm, saying he shipped jobs to China, and they’ll do the exact same to Romney. And it very well might work. I’d give him even odds in Michigan, only because Obambi is incompetent. But it’d be touch and go.

Once Perry is thrown from the helicopter, Romney gets smacked around and held over the side and asked if he gets the message yet.

Any hesitation in answer, and good riddance to him too.

So Rightwingyahoo is against Santorum because he’s too conservative, and he’s against Romney because he’s not conservative enough. I wonder if rightwingyahoo is just a liberal Democrat who is trying to get us all to oppose any Republican candidate regardless of who gets the nomination? Its clear to me that rightwingyahoo wants four more years of Obama. Otherwise, why does he spend all his energy bashing every Republican candidate?

  11. rightwingyahoo on September 25, 2011 at 12:22 pm

Ahh shaddup, and get some principles.

Santorum is according to NumbersUSA, horrible on immigration, he’s a preaching moralist, and the GOP has no room to preach, after what Bush did.

Let them accomplish something, and that might change. But we need someone who will NOT preach, but act in a constitutional manner, and keep his mouth shut.

Same with immigration, we need someone who will quietly get to work, not shoot his mouth off.

    Don’t be such a crybaby….

I never said Santorum was too conservative, I said BLOWHARD. ok?

  12. anonymous un-RINO on September 25, 2011 at 12:46 pm

Santorum is an idiot. He lost to the dumbest person who ever lived, in Casey. He’s a bigmouth loser, and the quicker Santorum is liquidated, the better it will be for selecting a proper candidate. We don’t want losers, and he’s a loser. And he’s dumb.

And by the way, Willard may be a lot smarter than Santorum, but he’s also a proven electoral loser. He yammers about not being a career politician, and he’s right, but not of his own volition. He begged and pleaded and tried to out-Kennedy Ted Kennedy, and he still lost. And he ducked out because he was probably gonna lose again.

No reason to wait on Willard, or ask him any more questions, which he’ll just answer more lies to. As soon as the chopper crewmen finish flinging Perry overboard, they can reach for RINO Mitt and lighten the load some more.

And if Christie gets in the race, we’ll need a Sikorsky heavy lift twin rotor to lift him off the ground, but as soon as that bird gets to proper altitude… out the door he goes, too.

I am conservative. I will not vote for Mitt Romney if he does get the nominee. Romney said he is conservative; he is not. He is just like the liberal Democrats and Sen. John McCain. Romney is hurting the Republican Party. I was hoping that Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana will run for President. He is running for Governor. Maybe Sarah Palin can get in the race and be the nominee on the 2012 Republican Party ticket.

Taking Rino McPerry down first is the correct strategy…
…then bring the heat to Romney for ind’v. mandate, cap & tax, etc
We carefully vet (but also $upport) Cain to keep his momentum growing…

As far as Christie, the base should swamp his phone bank and tell him to keep his fat gun-grabber paws out of the race or we will take him down Perry style.

It cannot be said enough: We need to bring these Rinos to their knees and force them to answer for their liberal records. Expose them with raw intimidation. It’s the only hope to control their behavior, or force a crash & burn like McPerry.

    Keept the heat burning hot…

  15. rightwingyahoo on September 25, 2011 at 5:20 pm

hahaha. yep. make sure we notify the USGS of the associated seismic event that will be generated too.

Might loosen up a lot of oil shale, so it’s even better.

  16. Ron on September 25, 2011 at 8:14 pm

Got news for all of you: Whoever is nominated will not run against Obama.
The dems are all now turing against his second term and will negotiate a deal with the establishment repubs for immunity from prosecution for many criminal acts that he AG Holder have purpetrated against the citizens of the country.
Also, he will be forced to prove, beyond any doubt, that he is eligible to run as POTUS.
My best guess is that we will have to run against and win over an Evin Bayh or another moderate democrat. But just keep on as you are and let Bill Kristol and the establishment WDC choose our candidtae.

  17. Reliapundit on September 25, 2011 at 8:29 pm

mitt ran against teddy jo in 94.

    that was good.

he ran to the right of mccain and has stayed there for 4 years.

he’s better on ww4 and immigration than perry.

he has managerial experience and can out debate anyone and obama.

he was excellent at the palmetto forum – watch youtube if you missed him.

reagan was an fdr lib once.

    people change.

    so what’s the problem?

  18. anonymous un-RINO on September 26, 2011 at 4:49 am

As he often said, Reagan didn’t move from the Democrat party… the Democrat party moved from him. He never changed… they did.

RINO Willard was never a conservative… ever. He’s trying to claim that he’s “moved”, which is just another lie, of course. Pardon us if we assume he hasn’t changed.

Willard wants to give green cards and a path to citizenship to 12M illegal alien criminals. That’s the Perry solution as well. You’re not making your point here.

That guy goes out the chopper just as fast as we can arrange it.

  19. Chicago Conservative on September 26, 2011 at 9:09 am

Chris Christie is just a bigmouth. He hasn’t done half of what Scott Walker in WI or Kasich inOh have done, guys that are conservative. Personally, the other governor elected in 2009,Bob mcDonnell from VA to me is much more impressive than Christie(look at his approvals). He is also a better conservative by far.

Ron says: Got news for all of you: Whoever is nominated will not run against Obama.

You have conrete proof of this, right? Yeah, I didn’t think so.
    – – – – – – –

Ron says: we will have to run against and win over an Evin Bayh or another moderate democrat

Foolish to think such things; the dems would be crushed. the DNC isn’t stupid enough to remove obama because they know they’d be destroyed by the CBC and black voters across the land. The black revolt against the dems would be massive. They’ve painted themselves into a corner with BHO, and they know it

Get new talking points because yours are terrible.

  21. Rick S. on September 26, 2011 at 9:54 am

PS: Christie is a loudmouth gun snatcher. He would drop faster then Perry with his past on gun grabbing. Tell Orca to stay where he belongs.
