Old York Times Editor Bill Keller wants to pose “tough questions” to the Republican candidates. Questions like:
What do you think of the evangelical Christian movement known as Dominionism and the idea that Christians, and only Christians, should hold dominion over the secular institutions of the earth?
If we’re going to do this, it’s only fair to ask other candidates similar questions. For example, Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN) could be asked:
When you were a member of the Nation of Islam, did you believe that Yakub was a black scientist who lived “6,600 years ago” and was responsible for creating the white race to be a “race of devils”?
And Joe Lieberman could have been asked (but obviously wasn’t):
As an orthodox Jew, will you be able to place the interests of the United States above the interests of Israel?
And, of course, it’s fair to ask all candidates, Democrat and Republican, one of the questions Bill Keller poses for only the Republicans:
“Do you agree with those religious leaders who say that America is a “Christian nation” or ‘Judeo-Christian nation?’”
Of course “only Christians, should hold dominion over the secular institutions of the earth” has direct policy implications while “Yakub was a black scientist who lived ’6,600 years ago’” probably has not…
“When did you stop beating your wife?”
Ebenezer Arvigenius was the name of the man who invented the portapotty.
So the Left wants to execute a religious test for public office, eh? I guess they’re unaware that such is barred by the Constitution.
It never ceases to amaze me how passionately the Left hates this country.
They simply despise it.
They hate what the US is.
They hate the nation and its institutions. And above all, they absolutely and passionately hate the US Constitution.
This is just the latest confirmation of the Left’s hate, installment number 9,845,568,173,999 of it.
The left loves to bleat about the Red Scare, and McCarthyism, then they pull this shit.
I wouldn’t trust a Democrat to wipe themselves or wash their hands after taking a dump, not to mention trusting the unnatural illegitimi to actually support the freedom of others…
I am an extremist, though. I consider big-government, Democrat-lite RINOs like McAmnesty to be closet Democrats, worthy of even less respect.
Best answer to that question continues to be:
