This is an example of what I was posting about in Words Matter. Definitions are Important.

Via Ace.

The good folks at e21 have updated the wildly optimistic chart from January 2009 prepared by incoming White House economists Jared Bernstein and Christina Romer. You know, the one that show the Obama stimulus plan would keep unemployment from hitting 8 percent.

From Reuters.

Measured against the 8% target, the stimulus was an EPIC FAIL.

But it is Bush’s fault, right? That magic phrase makes everything better.

    Obamanomics, baby.

Get used to that word. You’re going to be hearing it a lot over the next 17 months.

“What do you think of your Obamanomics?”

    “Isn’t this Obamanomics wonderful?”

“Think of how bad it would be if we weren’t blessed with Obamanomics.”

“We need 4 more years of Obamanomics!”

“Isn’t your family better off with Obamanomics?”

“Obamanomics ensures we maintain a solid 9% unemployment rate, and add $1.7T of debt on top of the trillions we already owe. We can’t afford to give up on Obamanomics!”

“Stay the course… Obamanomics is the future!”
