Feingold is really weak this time around. However, he is a good closer. cross your fingers, everyone….

  2. Ralph E.

I am beginning to what his standards are. Yesterday with Reid in a 2 point lead gave it to him. Now with this it is in the toss up category with the same 2 point lead. So exactly what are his standards on deciding which category things are in. Both are within the margin of error BTW so he shouldn’t be calling it.

If an incumbent Democrat is at stuck at 46% leading up to election day,
they’re not winning on election day.

Angle is down two in Nevada – it’s a dead heat. Dingy Harry is at 45% and he destroyed the Nevada economy.

  7. )))McRock(((

Hey, didya check out Angle’s polling numbers in Nevada recently???

    Well did ya?

  8. )))McRock(((

“Harry is at 45% and he destroyed the Nevada economy.”

So he killed the already “dead” economy that Bush killed before him?

Can you do that? Kill something twice????

  9. )))McRock(((

Well, enjoy your momentary blip in the polls…here’s reason #1 why it is all pointless at this moment:

    “Monumentally bad timing.”

According to former Bush aide Matt Latimer, that’s the Republican reaction to the news that former president George W. Bush will release his memoir, Decision Points, the week after the 2010 midterm elections. Yes, the races will be decided by the time the book hits stores, but as with any major print release, a slew of excerpts are sure to be leaked in the weeks prior to Nov. 2. Latimer gives his take on The Daily Beast, reporting on Democrats who are “gleeful” at the news, Republicans who are on the fence about it, and what Bush himself might be thinking:

The former president, who I knew to be an often “misunderestimated” politician, may indeed think his book will help his party–by setting the record straight. (There are parts of that record that can use some plain old Texas clarifyin’.) Undoubtedly some people will look more kindly on the Bush years now than they did at the time, particularly on national security. But the problem is that Bush himself will not be able to make his case before the elections. As with most high-profile books, W. will likely be embargoed from talking until his book is released–far too late to change the minds of any voters.

I love this reaction to the news that the Bush Memoirs are being released in November:

One prominent conservative compared the Bushies’
    public-relations savvy to LeBron James.

  11. Ralph E.

McNuts, Prince Harry might be in the lead, however the results are within the margin of error so it’s too close to call right now. Plus with Harry not being over 45 currently, it might be hard to win since he’s a known comodity.

  12. )))McRock(((

  16. factmensch

As for the November elections, one of the most astute political observations ever made was: “It’s the economy, stupid.” If the Dems think that things are going to turn around for them before November, then they’re just whistling past the graveyard. You’ve already lost the House. It’s only a matter of whether the Reps run the table in the Senate. They did it in 1994. Also, a little historical perspective, never in US history has the House flipped without the Senate also flipping in the same election.

  17. Jay

Remember when the Demcrats railed against those “tax cuts for the rich” that allegedly happened?

Here is what the House Democratic Majority Leader is saying now:

“We have no intention of allowing the Republican tax increase — that their policies would lead to — to go into effect for working Americans. Period,” he said. “We’re going to act and make sure that the Republican phase out and increase in taxes does not end as they provided for in the laws they passed.”

    Now he’s a bozo.

  18. XWVXVWX

“Also, a little historical perspective, never in US history has the House flipped without the Senate also flipping in the same election.”
    ]]][[[

Interesting historical perspective, but don’t get too cozy.

I believe that certain historical patterns are only reliable until they’re not.

Meaning, that the dems had piled hundreds of historical patterns against Bush in 2004 (making themselves feel all warm and fuzzy about their chances with Kerry) but, after all the political smoke had cleared, all of those historical patterns against Bush were utterly meaningless and the dems had egg on their face.
    again.

Further proof that Dems have absolutely NOTHING to offer for the 2010 election except for lies, manipulation, and history revisionist nonsense.

Unfortunately for them, the public is ACTUALLY paying attention this time.

McRock (rhymes with Suck My Co-k) and The Ace (rhymes, more or less, with The As-hole) have serious anger management difficulties. In addition, they have definite problems with selective perception (what the late Senator Goldwater astutely called filtered thinking). Therapy? Lengthy tours as assistant coaches with the North Korean soccer team.

  21. The Ace

    Good times!

The treasonous GOP will say anything, do anything, oppose anything, for one goal: POWER.

The GOP party of failure will use lies, manipulation, and revisionist historical nonsense toward one goal: POWER.

The GOP party of fail creates the myth of the “liberal agenda” in order to achieve their agenda: POWER.

Why does the GOP hate America so much that it is willing to destroy it in order to achieve POWER?

The GOP wraps its arms around one thing, and one thing only: POWER.

    Bozos.

    From bnet:

    May 15th, 2006

”When House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” last week, host Tim Russert repeatedly pressed her on whether she would try to Repeal the tax cuts enacted by President Bush and the Republican Congress. Pelosi eventually broke down and gave a partial answer.

“WELL, I, MYSELF, AM AGAINST THEM,” Pelosi said. “But the point is, there are choices to be made in our budgets, and, and I will tell you more the Democrats are going to do when we take over the Congress of the United States.”

Just three days after her appearance on “Meet the Press,” Pelosi voted in favor of letting the Bush tax cuts on capital gains and dividend income EXPIRE after 2008 (rather than extend them through 2010) and in favor of exposing-in this tax year-an additional 15 million middle-class Americans to the insidious Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT). All but 15 members of Pelosi’s party in the House VOTED with her FOR HIGHER Taxes!”

    Liars.

    BWAHAHAHAHA!

You believe that with all of your heart, don’t you?

Even though it doesn’t have a shred of truth.

Your team might win in November, and then they will screw things up, and then the other team will be in the majority.

You can’t see it because you are blinded by partisanship. Why are you willing to destroy America in order to have your team win?

    Liars.

  26. XWVXVWX

Even though it doesn’t have a shred of truth.

The proof was just posted you idiot.

Yet, you cannot admit that your ilk of liars and hypocrites are spewing lies like crazy. THEY WERE JUST QUOTED, yet you dishonest pricks can’t admit that your side is lying through their teeth.

Have fun in November trying to explain to yourself why you morons just had a stunning defeat

Wayne Allen Root comes out against ground zero mosque. He is no libertarian.

The state should not stop it (the mosque at ground zero)…unless it is proven the mysterious $100 MM comes from groups or countries that fund terrorism.

But the PEOPLE should stop it. That’s the American way. The people of Nevada stopped Yucca Mountain- even 20+ year…s after it was approved and billions were spent. People have a LOUD voice. Citizens and neighbors hae property rights too.

The thing missing from this argument is the name chosen; “CORONADO.” That says it all. It represents Islam’s biggest victory over Christianity in Spain in 1400′s. You mean THAT isn’t a sign of intent? That isn’t a disgrace and affront to 3000 dead Americans? And their relatives? That isn’t an affront to every policeman & fireman in New York?

Citizens have every right to protest day and night…fill the streets..and raise the money to buy the property from the owners.

Polls show a HUGE majority are against this affront to America. Including 58% of New Yorkers- the most liberal and tolerant state in USA.

Remember Yucca Mountain. This can be stopped. But the people must get busy, get involved, and get LOUD.

This is not a issue of politics…it is an issue of COMMON SENSE.

For those interested in whether Republicans will win control of the Senate, Feingold’s race in Wisconsin and Barbara Boxer’s in CA will likely determine that proposition.

In order to win, Republicans will have to defeat some Democratic incumbents along with defending their own open seats. Defeating Feingold and especially Boxer would be huge and indicative of a great night for Republicans. If Republicans lose these two races, they will have to settle for a very good night instead of a great one.

Feingold and Boxer have survived twice after winning their initial Senate elections in 1992 in generally good Democratic years in 1998 and 2004 (at least 2004 was good for Democrats in those two states if not nationally). This is the first time both have not had the wind at their backs in their bids for re-election. Losing these two would also be big, black eye for Democrats given that both of them are well known figures in their party.
