Does Pelosi Really Have the Votes?

Jim Geraghty makes a good point:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she has the votes to pass the health-care bill . . . but no vote is scheduled.
So her plan is to what, sit around and give nervous House Democrats a lot of time to change their minds? Give those House offices more time to be inundated with calls from irate constituents? Give those Blue Dogs and red-district Democrats more time to think about how they’re effectively ending their careers?
You know how we’ll know when she really has the votes? She’ll schedule the flippin’ vote.

What half-assed reporting. In the same interview Pelosi said she has the votes, she said she’s waiting on the CBO numbers before scheduling a vote.

I thought the CBO already scored it and we were SAVED from destruction….
….or was that one of the ten other reincarnations of this unending PBS docudrama?
I swear, this friggin’ bill/issue reminds of the evil stalker/killer in a bad eighties teen horror flick, where the stupid girl shoots him once and then turns her back, puts the gun just out of reach and starts to sob hysterically, all the while the whole theater is screaming “SHOOT ‘EM AGAIN, YOU STUPID TWIT!, Empty the clip!!!!!”

I’m just going by what Pelosi herself said. I stopped following the daily HCR roller coaster ride that is Congress a while ago. My heart can’t take it. Hmmm…guess your analogy is pretty apt.
