Financial Armageddon Watch
By W.C. Varones ~ November 24th, 2009 @ 2:15 pm
The Sacramento Bee’s primary political columnist says California will default on its debts.
The New York Times says America’s option-ARM is about to reset.
23% of homedebtors owe more than their houses are worth.
Gold hits yet another new high.
Nine months after Obama’s $787 billion porkulus package, we’re still way above the 8% unemployment he promised we wouldn’t see. In totally unrelated news, Obama’s approval ratings hit yet another new low today.

All hail Dear Leader.

That’s right Phil. Joke Leaf knows the score. Don’t pay any attention to the 25% overprojection of Q3 GPN or the rising unemployment rate. Everything’[s great.

Nice Job, Bushie, and all you Bush supporters. Are you happy now?
November 24th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
Wait. Tell us about all those jobs created or saved, McSOB.
November 24th, 2009 at 4:30 pm
McSOB, did you miss the part where Ogabe said he’d saved the economy?
November 24th, 2009 at 4:43 pm
McRock:
“Nice Job, Bushie, and all you Bush supporters.”
Ahh yes. California is forecast to default on its bonds and it’s all the fault of Bush and his supporters. Nice. Now do you understand why posters consider you to be an idiot?
November 24th, 2009 at 4:56 pm
Ogabe said he’d saved the economy
But, you refer to the President as Ogabe. Not the level of maturity that we need right now. You are willing to let America fail, because you hate so much.

Look at Inhofe, a grown man reading stolen emails, and then getting his knickers in a knot over nothing.

Now do you understand why posters…
Posters plural is rather generous, considering that this website has imploded, and of those few remaining that do post…agree with McRock.

Pluto … heel, boy … and quit licking your b*lls!
Now repeat(bark) after me ….
“IT’S THE ECONOMY, STUPID!”
And bark to Ogabe … you can’t take credit for signs the economy is improving, but continue to blame the last administration for signs that says its bad. Take Responsibility, Man! At least the American public will have enough respect for you that your poll #’s will level off from the nosedive they are in.

ATILLA said: “Must suck for you to have seen the failure of the USSR.”
That’s strange, because when I look at the White House and its current inhabitants and czars, when I look at television and hollywood fare, and when I look at the state of our education system from K-PhD, I fail to see that the USSR failed at all.
In fact, it looks like the Reaganites among us were deluded and deluded ourselves into thinking that We Beat the Soviets!
Yet, here they are, all up in our every single system, laughing at us, for believing that we beat them. We’ve been taught by them at our schools since 1970 or so. We’ve been worshipping them at our movie theaters.
We just elected them.
I’d say the U.S.S.R. pretended to fail, and we pretended we beat them.

Hey, this is how stupid Fox thinks its viewers are: on Hannity’s Hour of ODS, that lying sack of cute, Dana Perino actually said “We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush’s term…”. Amazing, aboslutely amazing. But what’s more amazing is none of the other wingnuts on the panel corrected her. The wingnuts have completely lost their minds. They’ve gone from excusing Bush’s security lapse by blaming it on Clinton, to actually trying to rewrite history by pushing Sept 11 2001 back in time into Clinton’s term. Of couse, they also don’t count as terrorism every mass killing in the US that occurred under Bush that wasn’t committed by a brown person with a funny name… But as for Obama… They have no shame.
November 25th, 2009 at 10:51 am
Perino actually said “We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush’s term…”.
I didn’t watch it, I personally can’t stand Hannity. He is a whiner and far too shrill for my tastes. But I would bet my house that what she meant was that we did not have a terrorist attack on our country after 9/11. Which is completely accurate.
November 25th, 2009 at 10:56 am
They’ve gone from excusing Bush’s security lapse by blaming it on Clinton, to actually trying to rewrite history by pushing Sept 11 2001 back in time into Clinton’s term.
Haven’t you heard, first year doesn’t count for Republicant presidents, while Democratic presidents start right after election day. Don’t forget, wingnuts were blaming Clinton for crap well into Dubya’s second term.
November 25th, 2009 at 11:01 am
As for who’s to blame for 9/11, I blame the whacked out jihadis who decided to do it in the first place. Did we as a country underestimate the evil that we were dealing with in radical Islam? Definitely. Do I blame Clinton for not taking out OBL the many times he had the opportunity to do so? No I don’t. At the time, he was just some rich nut job on the other side of the globe prattling on about is fanatical faith and his hatred for the West and how he would do all sorts of bad things to us. No one took him that seriously. There was no real reason to do so.
Frankly, it was liberal idiots who initially started playing the blame game trying to drop the responsibility on Bush’s shoulders. Then you all bitched when he started actually doing something about it (Afghanistan, Iraq, Patriot Act, etc). Liberals…they have no shame.
November 25th, 2009 at 11:05 am
while Democratic presidents start right after election day.
Need we remind you that OBAMA promised that unemployment wouldn’t go above 8% if his “stimulus” bill passed? At the very least, Obama vastly underestimated the economic problems we faced (and yes he inherited) and obviously took the least helpful course of action as a result.
November 25th, 2009 at 11:15 am
‘…we did not have a terrorist attack on our country after 9/11. Which is completely accurate.” – Hmm, let’s see:
September 2001 – Anthrax mailing attack
October 2002 – the Beltway Sniper shooters killed 10 people
March 2005 – the Red Lake shooter killed 9 people
April 2007 – the Virginia Tech shooter killed 32 people
February 2008 – the Northern Illinois University shooter killed 6 people
I’ll send you a mailing address where you can send me the keys to your, oops, I mean, my house.
November 25th, 2009 at 11:30 am
So MikeyW
I assume that you believe the Fort Hood shootings to be a terrorist attack that occured on Obama’s watch then correct? Well I would even reckon based on your definition of terrorist attack that you blame Obama for the fact that a terrorist who blatantly espoused anti-american views and contacted radical al-qaida clerics overseas (facts known by the Feds ahead of time but not acted upon) was able to attain a high rank in the military thus positioning himself to commit mass murder in the name of Allah.
My keys aren’t going anywhere.
November 25th, 2009 at 11:44 am
Isn’t spin fun?
Here’s one: If a basketball player were to say, “I used Dr. J.’s trick in driving the lane”, would you assume that the player was describing a way to cheat? Or would you assume it more like a “trick of the trade”?
November 25th, 2009 at 11:48 am
- “I assume that you believe the Fort Hood shootings to be a terrorist attack that occured on Obama’s watch then correct?” – Not really. But Perino does, as that was the context of which she was ranting: Why won’t Obama admit that the Ft Hood Shootings was a terrorist attack? She (and the rest of the wingnuts) thinks Ft Hood was a terrorist attack, yet she doesn’t think the others that I listed were. Why is that?
In fact, the Beltway Sniper actually was convicted of terrorism (among other things), so in that case it doesn’t really matter what I believe.
As for the anthrax mailings, what do you make of the writings on the letters that went to Daschle and Leahy:
09-11-01
YOU CAN NOT STOP US.
WE HAVE THIS ANTHRAX.
YOU DIE NOW.
ARE YOU AFRAID?
DEATH TO AMERICA.
DEATH TO ISRAEL.
ALLAH IS GREAT.
- “My keys aren’t going anywhere.” – Now why would I assume otherwise?
Sounds like a terrorist to me…
November 25th, 2009 at 12:01 pm
BTW, the “…facts known by the Feds ahead of time but not acted upon…”, were known while GWB was president, so it seems like yet another example of “The Decider” dropping the ball and people getting killed. Thanks – I almost forgot about that. And I bet you actually felt safe under 8 years of republican leadership – that’s certainly what the brochure says….

Communism. You people would shit a brick if you ever experienced real communism. But let’s play the game of hyperbole.
Communism vs Corporatism. Given the choice, communism every time, simply because the intent for good is there. Corporatism only serves it own greed and screws everyone in its path. There is no incentive or desire to improve society, only to exploit it.
The free reign of corporatists, with the entire Repulicant party in its pocket, has raped and abused capitalism to such an extreme, COMMUNIST CHINA is kicking the shit out of America and has taken the capitalism crown. Thanks Repulicants, China couldn’t have done it without you. The next time you see a Chinese investor buying up another portion of America, ask them what they think of their country. No one hates their own country more than an American corporatist.
I wish America can be a true capitalist country, but thanks to fucktard conservatives, we had to create antitrust and labor laws. Workers were so abused by corporations, they had to form unions. While Republicants long for the days of robber barons and child sweat shops, Democrats are here to say, “Fuck you! Ain’t happening!”
Happy Thanksgiving all.

Excuse me? Is it a Republican administration that is still bailing out GM, GMAC, AIG, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac?
Is it a Republican administration that just put a Goldmanite in charge of enforcement at the SEC?
Is it a Republican administration that cut a backroom deal to protect big pharma profits in exchange for political support for ObamaCare?

See? Hyperbole sucks. Wingnuts don’t see it, though. You people set a new low in American politics. You go from “Dixie Chicking” critics and questioning patriotism to the other extreme of heckling a president during an address and inciting violence during protests.
Bush was an unpopular president till 9/11, then his approval ratings shot up into the high nintey percentile. Liberals gave up their grievances over the election to rally behind the president in a time of crisis. Can the same be said about wingnuts? Something horrendous happens under Obama’s watch, will the wingnuts rally in support? I think we all know the answer to that one.
November 26th, 2009 at 7:34 am

Bush was a fool to pretend that you love this country, and freedom. We are not so foolish.
Obama wants to understand, sympathize with, and coddle those who would kill us, he wants to take away our ability to fight back.
That is the difference, Americans want to fight, win, and come home, and not be continuously victimized, hence the lack of support for his response.

A wingnut calling someone a liar is like Sarah Palin calling someone white trash.
Difference is liberals know when to put aside hyperbole and act like grown-ups. Wingnuts, on the other hand, throw temper tantrums like perpetual 2 year olds and have become so deluded as to believe they’re own bullshit.
That’s ok though, America has rejected wingnut “philosophy”. Dems will lose seats next election cycle, but not to wingnuts. That great RINO purge will be sane Republicans eradicating batshit crazy from their party. I look forward to this site endorsing Tea Party candidates.

Yes, the real financial armageddon is still ahead for us, and California will be the first and most high profile state to succumb.
To this point, Obambi/Geithner/Bernanke have facilitated state spending levels, and financed them with money borrowed and printed, but that can’t last forever.
The public employee unions will fight hard, and push for new and more destructive taxation on a crumbling economy, to support union jobs and benefits and wages, but absent Obambi’s borrowed and printed money flow, they are on their own, because the general public even in California won’t suffer while public employee unions prosper.
The day of reckoning is approaching. It’s fitting that it starts in California, and that the mainstream there confronts these union leeches, and puts its foot on their neck and steps down hard.
November 28th, 2009 at 6:24 am

I suppose that includes fact-checking Sarah Palin’s books, while ignoring Al Gore’s, Barack Obama’s, etc.? And it certainly includes Code Pink, Act Up, and the slander of the Tea Party Movement…
