Governorships

By PoliPundit ~ November 19th, 2009 @ 9:30 am

Polls show Republicans tied or leading in California and New York. This is in addition to those races that will almost certainly flip to the GOP, such as Iowa and Colorado.

Why is this important? Because state-by-state redistricting after the 2010 census will swing several US House seats to one party or the other. Plus presidents tend to be governors first.

Unfortunately three of the last four Presidents who had previously been Governors didn’t work out all that well. Only Reagan can honestly claim to have been successful as President among them.
