This explains why Doug Hoffman lost: “Hoffman came off like a weird alien…”
Ideology can only take you so far. At some point, you’ve got to be a reasonably normal-looking person to win the popularity contests we call elections.

The problem being that the ideologically far right usually come off as weird aliens. It is called the Santorum factor.

Deeds and Corzine might disagree with you.

Christie is ideologically far right?

In about 90 days or so, some of the “weird aliens” will be campaigning by inviting Obambi to come in and campaign for their opponent, to spread some leg-tingling around.
That should be fun… watching The Messiah get pilloried.

- “Christie is ideologically far right?” – Nice point! Christie said thanks but no thanks to Palin and ran ads with Obama. He went all hopey changey and won.

I guess you missed Christie’s acceptance speech. That’s OK. Go back to sleep, tiger.

Corzine looks like an old hippie or a pervert college professor.

I saw Hoffman briefly on Fox last night. The guy has the personality of a sack of potatoes and had that deer in headlights look about him. Given that the Dem candidate was more conservative than the Scuzzy RINO candidate (there is a reason that Daily Kos endorsed the RINO), this isn’t that great a win for the Dems. I would bet a paycheck that this seat goes back to the R column in 2010.

Apparently, somebody forgot to inform Mr. Waxman of that fact.

It’s shameful to consider that Hoffman lost due to his appearance. There is nothing particularly wrong with his appearance. Owens looks like a corpse and Scuzzyfinger looked like an ox.
Neither was Hoffman ultraconservative. He lost because the GOP ran ads against him, Scuzzyfinger stabbed him in the back and the voters seemed to like the idea of more suffering.
I thought NJ would assume that position, but I was wrong.
I weep for Hoffman.

Horseshit! I’m on his finance committee and no such thing happened. Is that the Lib talking point for today?
