Telling Numbers

By PoliPundit ~ November 3rd, 2009 @ 5:10 pm

I’ll update this table as races are decided.

Obama ‘08 Margin Dem ‘09 Margin Change
Virginia +6 -18 -24
New Jersey +15 -4 -19
NY-23 +5 -2* -7
CA-10 +31 +10 -21

* Owens – (Scozzafava + Hoffman)

I’d expect to see a swing of 10-20 points(!!) away from the Democrats.

UPDATE: CHRISTIE WINS!

Christine Todd Whitman won by about 1 point in 1993; so Christie will probably do better than her. Meanwhile, in Virginia, Bob McDonnell did exactly as well as George Allen did in 1993. I wonder if Republicans will do as well in 2010 as they did in 1994…

Hi, guys. Seems like old times. I haven’t been around since WBH days. Who’s still here? Colorado knighthawk? I can’t recall the other oldtimers. Hope Zero gets blued screwed & tatooed 2nite!

The 2007 Poli regulars have gone to http://www.bejohngalt.com due to Oak Leaf.
Some have also gone to http://www.hedgehogrepprt.com.

Poli and Varones are cool, but we can’t stand OL. YMMV.

However, fwiw I’d like to personally invite you to comment and http://www.bejohngalt.com

We are “Randian” on economic matters but varied on social issues. Many think we are full throttle libertarian bc of the site name. Not quite so.

Anyway, stop by if you’re inclined.

Old timer here too…haven’t posted since the Dem takeover of 2006. Haven’t really had the heart to as I have been in mourning. Tonight is the first time I have felt positive in years. Conservatism has a pulse, and it’s strong. I feel a thrill going up my leg.

Please click on my name to discover where some of the old Poli regulars have gone…

We still love Poli and Varones. Can’t deal with you know who….

Hey, mnw. Your presence is requested at BeJohnGalt.com. Lots of old PP folks hanging out there these days.

    Streaming results from Maine.

  8. W.C. Varones

I’m watching this on bberry from a meeting- hoping for a sweep but Hoffman is most important.

Please don’t get my hopes up with NJ and then kill me in NY.

  9. JBoz

OK, I’ve been gone for awhile. Jumped back on here because this is where I got my daily dose of conservatism and I’m feeling the urge tonight. But WHAT THE HELL happend to this once great forum? Looking back at some of the threads, and the left turn of this site make me want to vomit.

    LAST POST HERE. Bye!

I called VA at 59-41, McConnell. Let’s see if he can stay at 60 and tie George Allen’s 93 victory. I called Christie to win 47-44, but I think I might be wrong. I think Christie might get 49.

What a great night for conservatism. I am still waiting to hear Katie Couric say all politics are local… TRANSLATION: Liberals got their ass kicked at the polls!

  11. rightwingyahoo

heh…. Now imagine what those vote totals would be if Amnesty had passed in 2007, like Rudy and McCain wanted…..and Bush……

  12. rightwingyahoo

    Communists coming back in NJ…….

  13. NYC Steve

RWY – Amnesty never was and never will pass. The fear that it might doesn’t mean turning Congress over to the party who drenched their blood in the hands of soldiers for political gain.

  14. rightwingyahoo

I won’t argue with you on that, however with a Dem house amnesty can always pass, since the Senate is so corrupt…..

  15. rightwingyahoo

Essex just reported. Was that Corzine’s last hope?

  16. PoliPundit

Actually, McDonnell did better than Allen in ‘93, and I suspect Christie will outperform Whitman’s ‘93 margin as well. I’ll have a table showing that.

  17. rightwingyahoo

Dem areas of NJ are holding out. Trying to decide how many votes they’ll need…..

  18. (((BCL)))

mnw, like rwy and mpt said.

  19. rightwingyahoo

    Hoff in trouble?

  20. spike

Wouldn’t you know it. My cable company, US Cable, sold out last week and my TV went to snow snow …..LOL. Of all nights, can’t see Olbermann and Chrissy Matthews go all Pluto and talk about the Klan etc……

  21. setnaffa

Spike, they are explaining it as a low turnout and governors being unpopular because of the economy… Anything but the socialist self-immolation that caused it…

Oh, and local races now don’t matter in national races nect year; but it’s all good for Obama…

    My head hurts…

  22. invalid10

Secret copyright treaty leaks that Obama is keeping secret due to national security

Better to keep the internet free.

  23. invalid10

Mitch McConnell’s bid to kick Jim Bunning out of the senate to backfire? Be careful what you wish for Mitch. You might just get it!

  24. setnaffa

I wonder if invalid10 is just mentally ill?

  25. spike

Yeah, poor guy. I just pat him on the head every once in awhile.
