Do these educrats have no sense of shame? No sense of reality? No sense of balance and what’s required in an educational environment?

Is this what goes on in our schools today? Spending hours memorizing and practicing the performance of a chorus sung in praise of a frickin’ politician?

    Huh?

This is beyond outrageous. No wonder the Asian schools blow ours away. Theirs aren’t rotted out and filled with garbage like this, I’m sure.

  2. Let's Not Mention That

Michelle Malkin is trotting out that debunked snippet of a video again?

Laugh out loud funny (as they used to say).

  3. Warner

“…in praise of a frickin’ politician?’

…who just happens to be POTUS, who school children have honored, as they should, throughout history, regardless of party affiliation.

“No wonder the Asian schools blow ours away.”

I’m not so sure about that, but it is NEVER good to politicize education, as you’re doing here. And before you crow about me supporting the same, you really need to think about whether you’ve ever opposed the glorification of Republican Presidents of the past during or after their term?

Since we all know the answer to that already, I think what’s clear is that you people need to keep your partisan America-hating noses out of our kids lives.

  4. the aura of truthiness

No, Warner, nobody but you supports this disgrace, now or ever. No need to tar anybody else with this… you own it… and appear to recognize the illegitimacy of it… which is the reason you’re attempting to tar OTHERS with it.

You know this is wrong. Because it is.

And yes, this is one of the many reasons Asian primary and secondary educational systems BLOW OURS AWAY.

They’re not afflicted with this rot, which you’re in here frickin CELEBRATING.

  5. Warner

“George H.W. Bush: Encouraged “America’s students to strive for excellence.” While president, George H.W. Bush gave a speech to schoolchildren intended “to motivate America’s students to strive for excellence; to increase students’ as well as parents’ responsibility/accountability; and to promote students’ and parents’ awareness of the educational challenge we face.” According to The Washington Post, the “White House sent letters to schools across the nation to encourage teachers and principals to allow students to tune in the speech, which was also carried live by the Mutual Broadcasting and NBC Radio Network. The live television and radio coverage was arranged at the request of the Education Department.” [Washington Post, 10/2/91]”

“George W. Bush: Learning materials from White House. As Media Matters for America deputy research director Simon Maloy noted, former President George W. Bush posted a “teacher’s guide” on the White House website intended to help students understand the “freedom timeline” and encouraged them to “explor[e] the biographies of the President, Mrs. Bush, Vice President, and Mrs. Cheney.”

“Some five hundred kids from Arlington will be bused out to watch former President George W. Bush give a speech later this month at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium. These are the same kids who weren’t allowed to watch President Barack Obama’s speech to American school children yesterday.”

Both Presidents George Bush and Ronald Reagan both gave speeches aimed specifically at students that were nationally televised. In 1989, Bush delivered a televised anti-drug speech, and Reagan’s 1986 commencement speech and Q&A session was “beamed over public television into 171 school districts,” according to the L.A. Times.

  6. Warner

Aura, once again, you are wrong on the facts, which you NEVER cite in your false screeds. Your game is up my man.

  7. the aura of truthiness

Yes, those presidents gave speeches to the kids, and after Obambi was shamed into backing off the lesson plan indoctrination that his White House originally schemed, he fell back into the same type of speech the others did. Fine that he finally did the right thing, after being shamed into doing it, as with the Jones firing.

Of course, as we see in that video, the sluggards in our substandard-to-the-rest-of-the-world educational system decided to spend hours developing chorus hosannas to their messiah, which is why our educational system will continue to fall behind Asia’s for example.

    Check the data.

  8. the aura of truthiness

No game, buddy. You typed it right there into your post. You’re celebrating the disgrace taking place in that video, even as it contributes to the decline of our educational system.

  9. Pluto

Obambi was shamed into backing off the lesson plan indoctrination that his White House originally schemed

Hilarious. And what was that secret plot that was foiled?

More likely, some people on the right became shrill, and the speech was altered to appease them. The crime was appeasing the shrill.

  10. Pluto

Anyone know the context of the video? Oh, I see, you don’t, because you would rather be shrill and outraged, without determining the context of the video.

The right is so odd, they want to pledge allegiance to the flag in the schools as a sign of patriotism, but they also want to stain the flag with tea…as a sign of patriotism.

  11. the aura of truthiness

No, the lesson plan, indoctrination and homework assignment, all originally developed and assigned by the White House, were withdrawn, after being exposed by the “shrill”.

Kinda like that Jones commie was extracted from the White House, after being exposed by the “shrill”.

The “shrill” being the mainstream of the country, of course, which Obambi is starting to realize he must listen to. In another 13 months, he’s going to get an even larger dose of realization, from the very same “shrill”.

    Check the data.

  12. Pluto

No, the lesson plan, indoctrination and homework assignment, all originally developed and assigned by the White House, were withdrawn, after being exposed by the “shrill”.

Sounds ominous, except that you don’t state what it was…

Moreover, even if Obama does modify in response to the shrill far right, it does not validate their tin foil hat ideas, it merely validates that the best way to bury their tin foil hat ideas is to slightly modify.

  13. invaid10

Paul talks to Bloomberg about the need to do away with the Federal Reserve because it serves as a convenience for the politicians who want to waste money on their warfare-welfare state pet projects on Bloomberg News.

    and

And Peter Schiff on Yahoo finance today talking about how the interests rates were artificially low.

  14. Pluto

Home schooling is the ultimate indoctrination. Absolute control over their sponge-like minds.

    Every look at Conservapedia/

    http://www.conservapedia.com/Main_Page

Today’s main page has a screed against the ACLU.

Guess what, Conservapedia was developed by home school kids.

The page on Kangaroos and theories on their creation is a hoot.

    http://www.conservapedia.com/Kangaroo

  15. the aura of truthiness

Uh huh, the best course is to “modify”… as in “modify” the communist indoctrination right out of the program… and “modify” the communist kook’s ass right out of the White House.

Then, prepare for additional “modifications” after the ’10 election results.

    It’s fun to modify!

  16. invaid10

CQ Politics has a nice article on CQPolitics about the “Hammer” as he calls himself prevented Paul from becoming chair of the finance committee during his reign as House Majority leader.

Did DeLay Dance on Ron Paul’s Head?

“Long before he danced with the stars, then-House Majority Leader Tom DeLay two-stepped all over fellow Texas Rep. Ron Paul’s hopes of overseeing the Federal Reserve, according to an account provided by House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank .
In a broader interview with my colleagues Phil Mattingly and Benton Ives, Frank offered this assessment of how DeLay and other GOP leaders tiptoed around giving Paul — who wants to abolish the Fed — the gavel of the subcommittee with jurisdiction over it:”

  17. Pluto

as in “modify” the communist indoctrination right out of the program

Rather than support your argument with the facts of the matter, you lapse into propaganda. Good luck with that in 2010. What will be the campaign slogans?

  18. invaid10

On subject…isn’t this video another reason why we don’t want the Federal Government having a Department of Education?

The Government’s version of U.S. history (and even economics, social sciences etc) are not always the correct one.

  19. the aura of truthiness

Well, bud, your messiah supported my argument, when he withdrew the commie propoganda, lesson plan and indoctrination program.

See, if he hadn’t done that, I wouldn’t be able to say he’d done so. He did. Just like he fired the commie green jobs dope.

The reason he did those things is that he knows the mainstream of the country doesn’t support them. So he acted, and validated what I’m saying here.

On the other hand, he could prepare commie lesson plans for the schools to show daily, and keep the commie truther around. You probably would, but I doubt he’s as foolish as you. So he acted. Smart move, but I don’t think it’s gonna help him in 2010. The peasants are revolting.

    I’m rather enjoying this!

  20. invaid10

Beck a Ron Paul convert or a grand stander?
Well Mark Levin hates him so maybe he’s not that bad?

  21. Pluto

“Well, bud, your messiah supported my argument, when he withdrew the commie propoganda, lesson plan and indoctrination program.”

So, you have knowledge of the content of a prior version of his speech?

Please share with the class, Aura. Because when I CHECK THE DATA, I can find no such evidence. Meaning that you are making something up completely, LYING, just to make a childish point.

(LMAO also about dragging the “commie” term out of the trash heap of history. You guys are a laugh a minute around here.)

  24. Pluto

The ignorants are worried about commies. Junior Tailgunner Joes.

The right wing shrills hung Bill Sparkman and scrawled “Fed” on his chest.

I am sure that it was patriotic.

  25. Warner

And just to point out the idiocy of another stupid ignorant comment from Aura:

“No wonder the Asian schools blow ours away…They’re not afflicted with this rot.”

As in China, which is one of the most propagandized/indoctrinated societies on the PLANET???? Your own argument ends up supporting the very thing it is supposed to refute! LMAO you boob.

Asians are ahead of us because their Science and Math education is much better. Because they do not feel the need to “balance” the scientific facts with religious supernatural voodoo beliefs, and because they get a lot of it at school. Here, even Evolution, one of the most fundamental and strong contributions of modern science to human enlightenment, is rejected or disbelieved by many (mostly southern, republican and religious people). There’s your problem in a nutshell, Genius: people like you want to Indoctrinate children into outdated belief systems rather than teach them about the world in which they live and give them the tools to contribute to progress and human knowledge.

  26. Warner

Yep, Pluto, that’s the way these people roll. Just like the KKK of yore. Disagree with them at your own peril. Or something like that…LMAO really, they’re more likely to be fat white middle aged tubs of cowardly quivering goo.

  27. Warner

BTW, aura, where did YOU go to school? Because I’m suspecting you weren’t aware until very very recently that China was…Asian.

  28. Warner

Or maybe I should say where DO you go to school? I’m beginning to wonder if you’ve reached High School yet.

No, I have knowledge of a prior version of the commie lesson plan that the White House published on their website, for use by all the indoctrinees, which they withdrew, after their indoctrination plan was exposed, and they were called on it.

    Check the data.

You still celebrating the messiah chorus in that video, Warner?

    .

That’s the first true statement you’ve made in this discussion, so I better quote it again.

Asians are ahead of us because they don’t waste time in school propogandizing for greaseball, f*cktard politicians… of ANY stripe. They study and work. Including China, whose communist ways you appear to want to emulate, even as you eschew their educational methodologies.

Really, Warner, give it up. Some scumbag educrats got nailed cold in a video, just like your ACORN buddies got nailed the other day. And you can’t decide whether you think it’s a bad idea, or think it’s a good idea and everybody including me is doing it.

Keep it simple. It’s a disgrace. It needs to stop. That’s what the mainstream thinks, which is why Obambi dumped the commie lesson plan, and dumped the commie greenie whacko out of his WH…. and ignored you fringe kooks whining about it. He just did it, and ignored you. Smart move.

  31. Pluto

No, I have knowledge of a prior version of the commie lesson plan that the White House published on their website, for use by all the indoctrinees, which they withdrew, after their indoctrination plan was exposed, and they were called on it.

Damn, you have GOT to push yourself away from the right wing propaganda spigots.

Asians are ahead of us because they don’t waste time in school propogandizing for greaseball, f*cktard politicians

    Google “Ronald Reagan Elementary School”.

  32. the aura of truthiness

No need to google anything, or look any further than the top of this discussion, where we have scumbag educrats caught on video, indoctrinating young students to a f*cktard greaseball politician.

And the kooky Left in this comments section is CELEBRATING that.

  33. Marvin the Martian

    Warner and Pluto,

You cannot possibly think this is an appropriate use of educational resources. I can only imagine the hysteria that would have occured on the left if a some teacher would have put together a similar demonstration to pay homage to Bush when he was president. I am sure there would have been calls for that teacher to resign or be fired. The ACLU most likely would have swooped in with a lawsuit.

  34. D QUIXOTE

  35. Pluto

You cannot possibly think this is an appropriate use of educational resources. I can only imagine the hysteria that would have occured on the left if a some teacher would have put together a similar demonstration to pay homage to Bush when he was president.

Google “Ronald Reagan Elementary School”. And please explain the results.

Also, don’t get hysterical over anything you watch on YouTube, without further investigation into context. For all you know the skit might have been preceded by one on Bush.

The ACLU most likely would have swooped in with a lawsuit.

Did you see the home schooler’s little write-up on the ACLU? When the far right abandons public education for home schooling, the result is indoctrination creations such as:

  36. McRock

Marvin: “I can only imagine the hysteria that would have occured on the left if a some teacher would have put together a similar demonstration to pay homage to Bush when he was president. ”

Are you saying this NEVER happened? It happens for every president. You folks are the ones being hypocritical, as usual, following the lead of your angry cheerleaders Malkin, Beck and Limbaugh in the latest mindless swarm.

And I must say, Warner’s take-down of the fool Aura “Check the Data” of Stupidness is one of the funniest I’ve seen on the web in a while….honestly, dude, are you here just for our entertainment???

  37. Pluto

    Please explain to me this:

“Schlafly, a social studies teacher for the Eagle Forum University educational program,[11] created Conservapedia as an instruction tool for homeschooled, high-school-level students whom he taught.[4][12"

Home schooling, the darling institution of the far right, is the model of indoctrination.

  38. Pluto

Also, please explain to me why the Kentucky Census Bureau worker, William Sparkman, was found on Sept 12th hanging from a tree with the word “Fed” scrawled on his chest.

Please explain that to me, is it patriotism?

  39. Marvin the Martian

Ah Pluto, you figured us out. We conservatives are closet wackos who want to lynch federal workers.

    You are a fracken idiot.

  40. McRock

Here’s a letter from the school superintendent about the Republican Obama-hater’s exploitation of their children for political gain. Apparently, the video has been posted without the parent’s consent. REPUBLICAN VALUES for all to see…it’s ok if it’s for the Great Cause.

You are shameless to propagate this.

    Dear Burlington Township Families:

Today we became aware of a video that was placed on the internet which has been reported in the media. The video is of a class of students singing a song about President Obama. The activity took place during Black History Month in 2009, which is recognized each February to honor the contributions of African Americans to our country. Our curriculum studies, honors and recognizes those who serve our country. The recording and distribution of the class activity were unauthorized.

If you have any further questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me or Dr. King, Principal of B. Bernice Young School, directly.

    Sincerely,
    Dr. Christopher M. Manno,
    Superintendent of Schools

  41. McRock

Warner: “So, you have knowledge of the content of a prior version of his speech?”

    Aura if Ignorance: “No.”

    Says it all, doesn’t it?

  42. Pluto

Ah Pluto, you figured us out. We conservatives are closet wackos who want to lynch federal workers.

    You are a fracken idiot.

All’s fair with you paint with a broad brush. One of yours lynched someone. If the President is a communist, certainly the right are all lynchers.

    Painting with a broad brush.

  43. Marvin the Martian

Did you see the home schooler’s little write-up on the ACLU? When the far right abandons public education for home schooling, the result is indoctrination creations such as:

You really can’t stand it that opposing views are able get out there can you?

BTW, public education is just as indoctrinating as home schooling is. You just happen to agree with the liberal indoctrination, so therefore it is “good” and home schooling is “bad”.

  44. Pluto

You really can’t stand it that opposing views are able get out there can you?

Huh? My point is that conservatives argue that education should be about reading, writing and arithmetic, yet the home schoolers created conservapedia.

BTW, public education is just as indoctrinating as home schooling is. You just happen to agree with the liberal indoctrination, so therefore it is “good” and home schooling is “bad”.

    Where did I say that?

My point is that home schooling is indoctrinating, so stop being so fracken sanctimonious.

  45. Pluto

Conservapedia was created by and for home schoolers, yet nobody on this website is willing to condemn conservapedia as political and religious infiltration of education.

  46. Marvin the Martian

All’s fair with you paint with a broad brush. One of yours lynched someone.

BTW, just what evidence is there that some rightwing McVeigh type did this? I just read MSNBC’s writeup (that bastion of conservatism) and though they did attempt to make such a connection, the article also mentioned that the area was a meth haven.

  47. Marvin the Martian

    “Where did I say that?”

It is implied in every post about homeschooling.

BTW, I don’t necessarily disagree with the notion that home-schooling is indoctrinating. MY point is that the public education system is ALSO indoctrination, and of the liberal variety.

    Marvin,

You’re missing Pluto’s excellent point. It’s not whether the killers were REALLY rightwing lunatics on a Beck-inspired rampage (even though that may be true, and it’s not too hard to believe at this particular moment in history), its that if the Left were to behave like the Right, THAT WOULD BE ALL YOU WOULD BE HEARING from the rightwing screamers, which would of course then work its way into the popular media who are a happy conduit for wingnut hysteria and lies these days. And that’s all everyone would be talking about for a few days. (The very fact that the big corporate media outlets have so far been very cautious and quiet in reporting this incident is only further proof for this idea. Interesting that they’re so much less so when very popular cable hatemongers accuse the President of Racism.)

Certainly those who take the name of “aura of truthiness” can recognize this simple point (or maybe his classes haven’t let out yet…LMAO).

“The kooky Left got nailed again..”

Yea, exercising their right to be patriotic and honor their president, who is a great man with a great story worthy of respect and praise.

THIS is your problem with it, wingnuts. You claim Patriotism for your own, Liberals by your definition are not capable of this. Any display must be suppressed, or else it might spread positively and in the process undermine your own efforts to take America away from everyone but those who agree with your Fascist Anti-American philosophy. Your own behavior proves this better than anything else.

You really have to wonder about a Party and a political philosophy that depends, for it’s very existence, on denying the basic rights and principles that make this country great and working every day to tear then down.

  65. Marvin the Martian

    Warner,

I challenge you to back this rhetoric up. Please give some examples of Republicans/Conservatives espousing principles that “deny basic rights and principles that make this country great”.

Read this then ask yourself which side of the ideological spectrum is really espousing facism.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/09/opinion/09friedman.html?_r=3

    Key graph

“One-party autocracy certainly has its drawbacks. But when it is led by a reasonably enlightened group of people, as China is today, it can also have great advantages. That one party can just impose the politically difficult but critically important policies needed to move a society forward in the 21st century”

That about sums up the liberal mindset of those in power right now. They are just so much smarter than us, they know what is best for everyone and should have the power to impose it against the will of the uneducated idiots who put them in power to begin with.

You know what your problem is Warner? You are arrogant. It is evident from your above quotes that you think that the only good ideas for the country can come from a liberal mind. That is bad enough, but you take it a step further. You impugn the motives of the other side. You seem to think that republicans/conservatives actually want to do harm to the people your side wants to help.

It is impossible to have a dialogue with someone who thinks the other side has nothing to offer and is actually an evil cabal bent on destroying the “little guy”, or whatever the hell it is you seem to think conservatives are trying to do. It just can’t be that conservatives love their country too and want what is best for everyone as well, they just have differing ideas as to how to attain that.

  66. the aura of truthiness

Warner, you lefty kook, the mainstream of this country is currently rejecting your brand of kookiness.

    Check the data.

That’s why you and your ilk are attempting to force feed your kookiness to the small children in our schools, rather than teaching them as the rest of the civilized world does. That’s why the Asian schools are blowing ours away… the reject your kookiness… especially in their schools.

You are a living, breathing parody.

  70. Lurkingman

Parody? Sure. To you all I would guess reality might look like that.

  71. Marvin the Martian

    The reality is this…

You made “nasty, childish comments” about OUR president for 8 years and felt very justified in doing so. It was patriotic to “voice dissent”, and the more vitriolic, the better.

You are a hypocrite and beyond parody.

  72. McRock

Here we go again with the “you did it first” routine, right after accusing someone else of being “childish” no less.

    Once again

    BUSH EARNED IT.

THE CRITICISM DIDN”T START UNTIL AFTER 2004. That’s not 8 years, genius.

OBAMA CRITICS OPENED UP ON HIM IN THE FIRST MONTH AFTER HE WAS SWORN IN. HE HAS HARDLY DONE ANYTHING YET TO DESERVE IT.

It is hate, pure and simple.

Oh, and BTW Marvin, as soon as someone accuses their opponent of “arrogance”, the argument has been conceded.

  73. Marvin the Martian

    “BUSH EARNED IT.”

    So has Obama.

“THE CRITICISM DIDN”T START UNTIL AFTER 2004.”

You are delusional. The attacks began right after 2000 with the “He stole the election” crap followed by the “He’s not MY president” line. And it went on from there. There was a brief respite after 9/11, but it didn’t take long for the national unity to disipate. Once the donks saw that support for the war was waning, they decided to use it as political tool to regain power.

“HE HAS HARDLY DONE ANYTHING YET TO DESERVE IT.”

In your eyes maybe. Quadrupling the deficit, a stimulus that didn’t stimulate, throwing Israel under the bus, sucking up to Hugo Chavez, giving speeches on foreign soil in which he struggles to say anything good about America… Those are criticism worthy things he as done, and those are just off the top of my head. I am sure I could go on, but why bother.

“Oh, and BTW Marvin, as soon as someone accuses their opponent of “arrogance”, the argument has been conceded.”

    Whatever.

If that is true, then I can say that as soon as someone accuses their opponent of racism, sexism, homophobism, or whatever “ism” your side uses to silence opposition, that means that the argument has been conceded.

  74. Marvin the Martian

“Here we go again with the “you did it first” routine, right after accusing someone else of being “childish” no less.”

    Listen genius.

My point was it is rather hypocritical for Lurkingman to be “aghast” at the anti-Obama comments when I am POSITIVE he was marching in lockstep with the vocal anti-Bush crowd for 8 years.

You and your ilk justify it with the “He earned it” line, which is fine. But demonstrating your arrogance in spades, you assume that conservatives railing against Obama has nothing to do with Obama’s policies and the direction he is trying to take the country, but that it is just rooted in hatred for the man.

Thanks for proving my point about liberal arrogance though.

  75. McRock

” …when I am POSITIVE he was marching in lockstep with the vocal anti-Bush crowd for 8 years.”

The very fact that you can make a comment like this is all that is necessary to understand your problem, Marvin. You are POSITIVE about something you have NO evidence at all for and can never know with certainty.

That also explains all of your idiotic comments about Obama, BTW. If I were to venture a guess, I would have to speculate that you’re simply not wired for rational though, making this a futile argument with a brain-damaged person. I do have to ask myself at this moment why I even bother.

  76. McRock

Rational THOUGHT (lord knows I am loathe to be misunderstood around here…LMAO).

And to follow, your comment is of the type quite common in black backwaters like this, making ridiculous proclamations on other people’s state of mind in a manner completely irrelevant to the topic at hand. What is it with you people? You get mad and all of a sudden your opponent becomes the embodiment of all the scary monsters under your bed and imaginary evil masked men that have tormented you throughout your pathetic lives. I’m not anything like the person you imagine me to be. No one is.

  77. Marvin the Martian

You are POSITIVE about something you have NO evidence at all for and can never know with certainty.

I don’t think I am making any judgemental leaps when I say that some troll who drops in saying inflamatory things like “repug”licans hate the US, we are liars, incapable of rational thought, pathetic, etc. probably didn’t have much if, anything positive to say about our former president.

Do I have “Lurkingman” on tape saying such things? No. But only an intellectually dishonest liberal like you would deny that he didn’t.

I do have to ask myself at this moment why I even bother.

Allow me to answer for you. You are moronic troll with nothing better to do, as evidenced by your chiming in with your 2 cents worth in a conversation that had nothing to do with you originally.

I’m not anything like the person you imagine me to be.

Actually, with every post you make, you demonstrate more and more that you are EXACTLY the person I imagine you to be. An arrogant, insulting know-it-all type who who doesn’t argue in the realm of ideas at all. Rather you lob smarmy insults and proclaim yourself superior on the basis of….well just because you say so I guess. Nevermind the fact that not a SINGLE post you make even ATTEMPTS to actually address the arguments I made. You see, saying “That also explains all of your idiotic comments about Obama, BTW” does not constitute a refutation of my criticisms of Obama. Saying things like “I would have to speculate that you’re simply not wired for rational though, making this a futile argument with a brain-damaged person” tells me that you are either afraid of (or incapable of) arguing in the realm of ideas. You are content to drop by with snarky (and yes childish) insults and exiting with your perceived moral superiority.

It truly saddens me that roughly a third of the country thinks like you do.
