Is Kumar from White Castle the new Joseph Goebbels?
We noted in April that actor Kal Penn, better known as Kumar, was taking a job in the White House propaganda machine. He’s officially “associate director of the White House Office of Public Liaison.”
Look at the recent “liaising” schemes coming out of the White House:
1) Comrades are urged to report their neighbors who spread “disinformation” about ObamaCare.
2) Union members and Craigslist paid “volunteers” are bused in to create the illusion of popular support for ObamaCare.
3) The White House sends lesson plans to schools nationwide encouraging obedience to the President:
“Why is it important that we listen to the President and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important?”
“[Students will w]rite letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president. These would be collected and redistributed at an appropriate later date by the teacher to make students accountable to their goals.”
5) Having the National Endowment for the Arts direct artists to make pro-Obama propaganda.
… and you have to wonder, “Is Kumar the new Joseph Goebbels?”

Speaking of Goebbels, you use this blog to school yourself at spin and memes with the intent to sway the public heart and mind.

Irrelevant comment. Surely you can see that?

“Irrelevant comment.”

What part of “irrelevant” is weak?
Varones is using spin and memes to compare Obama with the Nazis…but Varones is using Nazi techniques to do so, thereby making hilarious his whole argument.
Got it?
Here is an exercise for you: prove that Obama wants COMRADES to report on their NEIGHBOR.
Isn’t use of language to sway hearts and minds fun?

Hilarious. By a tag-team of tin foil hatters? Not likely.

L. The question is simply, Should the gov’t be involved in the behavior mentioned in the original post by WC?
People complained about Bush’s Patriot Act policies but now condone policies that are more threatening to civil liberties under Obama. It is hypocritical. If liberals do it–it is okay. If conservatives do it–it is not.
Why can’t the White House have a nazui in it? Pelosi says people that show up at townhalls are nazis. Again-Liberals can say it— you cheer. Conservatives say it—there is something wrong. It is hypocritical.
L. You ever see what Huffington, moveon and Kos put on their blogs? Do you go there and complain about their content?

L,
I shake my head and chuckle in bemusement over you whenever you show up here.
You were most certainly “schooled” the other evening by sensible thinkers regarding your defense of Kennedy and Chappaquidick. You had no factual responses, only condescension and name-calling (typical of libs when threatened and without a cogent response.) You thought Ezra Klein was not a credible source when he was/is one of your kind. Truly you are amusing, but more so to be pitied.
Open your eyes and pray that the Obama fog clears from your mind. Have the courage to think and arrive at sound judgments. It must hurt for you liberal kids to work so hard in denying facts in your little liberal worlds.
Take care.

So that’s the new money bomb day for Rand also.

Pat Buchanan redesigns his website, and he’s now linking to antiwar.com article, and he even has an Eisenhower video warning about the Military-Industrial complex.
An edgier Buchanan website now.

I thought this post interesting, from the Corner:
Napolitano Scolds Holder [Marc Thiessen]
The Senate Republican Policy Committee reports that this morning, on The Today Show, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano (unintentionally) scolded Attorney General Eric Holder.
Napolitano was asked about Holder’s decision to appoint a special prosecutor to reinvestigate certain matters involving the interrogation of certain detainees. She said: “I’m a former United States attorney. I’m a former [state] attorney general, a prosecutor. . . . I would never second-guess a prosecutor.”
She meant it, of course, as a defense of Holder. But in reality, she explained precisely what was wrong with Holder’s decision.
With his decision, Holder is second-guessing career prosecutors — the career prosecutors from the Eastern District of Virginia who reviewed the allegations in the CIA IG report and determined that there was nothing to warrant a criminal prosecution. Now Holder, a political appointee, is overruling their decisions, and in so doing questioning their judgment and impartiality.
This is wrong. So says Leon Panetta. And now, apparently, Janet Napolitano as well.”

Truth to Power,
What? Cheney is on record admitting to the crimes. Just prosecute them, but we need to expand the investigation.
Bruce Fein, a former associate deputy attorney general under President Reagan, says Holder investigation must be broadened to include Cheney.

The question is simply, Should the gov’t be involved in the behavior mentioned in the original post by WC?
And the answer is, simply, that the question is moot because WC manipulated the evidence with hyperbole. As a result, all that can be done is “shake one’s head and chuckle in bemusement.”

You thought Ezra Klein was not a credible source when he was/is one of your kind.
Bit of condescension there to assume what is my kind.
sensible thinkers
That is funny.
Have the courage to think and arrive at sound judgments.
Likewise. Or would that be condescending to say?
I love your style of overwriting, reminds me of my friend Phineas.

Conservatives manipulate the material–bad. Liberals manipulate the material–it don’t matter.

Hey, we’ve got a bunch of Leni Riefenstahls, too!
Wanna bet Kumar was involved in rounding them up?
September 2nd, 2009 at 1:55 pm
Conservatives manipulate the material–bad. Liberals manipulate the material–it don’t matter.
So, cry foul at the other guy manipulating the material, but also use it as justification for your own manipulation of the material.
It is better to simply not manipulate the material.
Particularly, the recent epidemic of comparisons with Nazi Germany have grown tedious.

L., “Particularly, the recent epidemic of comparisons with Nazi Germany have grown tedious.”
The recent epidemic of BHO, 40+ czars, and most of the State-Run Media doing their level best to EMULATE Nazi Germany has also grown tedious.
You want folks to quit calling your God-King and his minions Nazis? Tell them to quit acting like Nazis. 1984 was not an instruction manual.
September 2nd, 2009 at 3:28 pm
Yeah, Taq, those are the comparisons that I am talking about.
September 2nd, 2009 at 4:03 pm
Would you find Orwell analogies more acceptable?
I thought the Kumar / Goebbels juxtaposition was amusing, but if you’re offended by hyperbole, you might prefer an Orwell comparison.
1984 is obviously more literally similar to the Obama Administration than the Third Reich was. For starters, neither Obama nor Big Brother were known for genocide or invading France. And if you’ll review points 1 through 5 in the post above, I’m sure you’ll agree they would all fit right in to Orwell’s Oceania.

If you play an Obama speech backwards you hear the message:
“Order fries with your burger. Order fries with your burger.”
September 3rd, 2009 at 7:30 am
For starters, neither Obama nor Big Brother were known for genocide or invading France.
That is a good point and absolutely correct. Ayn Rand is also not known to have invaded France, a frequent point of comparison with Obama.

I would like to apologize to America for casting my vote for Obama. I made a grave mistake.

I’m not sure about Kumar, but every time I see Rahm Emmanuel I can’t help but see Joseph Goebbels; similar to ‘04 when every time I saw Theresa Heinz Kerry I couldn’t help but see Dustin Hoffman as Tootsie..
