Bunning out. Rand Paul in?

By W.C. Varones ~ July 28th, 2009 @ 3:58 pm

Kentucky Senator Jim Bunning has had moments of brilliance standing up against the bailouts, the banksters, and the crooks at the Fed. But he’s widely regarded as past his prime and losing his marbles. Yesterday, he announced that he will not seek re-election.

Will libertarian/constitutionalist hero Rand Paul run? I don’t know, but I know that he’d represent real Hope and Change!

You can donate here. And vote in a newspaper poll here (midway down on left).

(I’m slow. Invalid10 had this yesterday. And check out the good news on the Dodd front too.)

In other news today, Lindsey voted for Sotomayor.

I would consider more sane than McCain, Graham, the two Maine bitches, and some other RINOs in the Senate.

I expected Graham to vote for Sotomayor since he’s a RINO.

Bunning voted against Greenspan in his last term and against Bernake too.
He was kind of like Paul on domestic policy…well not exactly but as close as you could expect one of them to be.

I’m not sure how Schiff is getting so many pledges for his money bomb.

    Are these pedges bogus?

In just 9 days Schiff has racked up over 6000 pledges for his money bomb. If that plays out that’s a 600,000 (a lot) campaign drive.

Rand has about 1000 so far but it took two or three times as long to get that so right now he’s on pace for a 100,000 money bomb.

Although I’m sure Dodd has some gigantic warchest, but it’s still interesting.

    Ah, it’s a good day!

Obama is tanking in the polls and the dems are slowly coming unglued in disarray as they watch their two platform issues of hell-th care reform and carbon taxation fail.

    What a beautiful day!

Rick Perry for president in 2012?

Antiwar radio interview with Juan Cole, and they were talking about Rick Perry who thinks he will be the GOP nominee in 2012.

Perry has been jinning up the Texas GOP base lately to try to get people excited for his candidacy, but Scott Horton eviscerates his fake-secession talk. Former Democrat Rick Perry probably poll tested the word secession, but I don’t think he’s a libertarian or a secessionist. Maybe Perry will be like a crappy version of John Cornyn if he ever manages to get to D.C.

Here’s the transcript of part of their Perry discussion.
    —————————————————————-

Juan Cole: Well I hear your governor isn’t too happy about being in the Union as is it.

Scott Horton: Ah well come on, that’s a butch of…let me tell you about Rick Perry. Rick Perry doesn’t know nothing. Rick Perry is simply, *pause*, hairspray on top of a skull walking around making criminals money. He’s not for, well asks Ron Paul for a principled take of secession. Don’t ask Rick Perry.
My dad used to say about Rick Perry ‘ here’ a Democrat turned republican and never had a job in his life, and he’ walking around in 2000 dollars suits.’ How can this be.

Hmmm of course I haven’t seen enough of him to know for sure what I think of him.

Obama is launching what is being called “Homeland Security 3.0″ to boost his “anti-terrorist credentials.”

Obama’s Homeland Security directorJanet Napolitano is expected to outline Wednesday the Obama administration’s domestic approach to preventing terrorist attacks — a strategy that will rely in large measure on refining and expanding initiatives launched under President George W. Bush.

Did the Blue Dogs cave in on the health insurnance bill in the House? I heard that an agreement has been reached. These aren’t true blue dogs since they voted for Obama’s stimulus and now appears will vote for national health insurance.

Here’s the link that says a majority of “Blue Dogs” caved in on natinal health insurance for the one committe where 7 of them were located:

If I ran as a GOP member, I would just run commericals over and over again attaching them to all the left wing lunatics in Congress who voted or will vote for the stimulus, bailouts, and now national health insurance. So much for being fiscally responsible without hiking taxes.

I loved all of the attention he paid to the issues of immigration and illegal aliens in his issues section. NOT.

Thirteen separate issues listed, but not one of those were immigration or illegal aliens. Nor did he mention those topics under the headings of national defense or sovereignty.

His father voted three (3) times to reward thousands of illegal aliens with Section 245(i) amnesty.
