Failing?

Some very unsettling things have been going on with bonds and such in the last couple of days. This seems to sum it up.
I think Stagflation is coming: High interest rates, high inflation, and high unemployment.

Yep. Maybe it happens now, or maybe the scam continues for months, but eventually the bond market will say no more printing for pork and bailouts.

But Oak Leaf says we must embrace the recovery.

Bugger the recovery, bring this house of cards down now, to stop the socialist juggernaut .

Poli and Oak Leaf are clearly at odds. Oak Leaf has been insisting that Barak Obama has cured the economy and the Republicans had better “get with the program” and admit that Obama is the Savior.
Perhaps its time to show Oak Leaf the proverbial door and replace him with someone with reliable conservative credentials. Lori Byrd, for example.
[What an utter pile of crap. You must be a public skrooul gradiate. Here is what I have been saying. 1.) The economy has turned as evidenced by leading economic indicators. When the history is written, early March will be the turning point. 2.) The reason that it turned was because of the efforts of George W. Bush last fall/winter. 3.) If Republicans do not give GWB the credit he deserves now, Obama and the Democrats will take the credit in 2010 and 2012. 4.) Embracing the recovery is a way to put a stop to the spending whose purpose is to save the economy. If the economy is already saved, which it has been, we do not need the spending.

Good news for Michigan Republicans, Michigan State Attorney General Mike Cox (R) has announced his candidacy for the Michigan Governor’s Mansion in 2010, joining US Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI) and likely MI Secretary of State Terri Lynn-Land (R) in the governor’s race.

Why is that Good News for people in Michigan?
We certainly don’t need a rip-em-apart primary leaving no one in any shape to challenge the Democrat.

Does it make any real difference now, who the guvenator of mich is. All they can do at this stage is to oversee the proper burial of the rotting corpse.

I know some people may not like this but Michigan would have been better off if they elected DeVos four yrs ago instead of jennie.

Get ready for a “Wag the Dog” military crisis not unlike Bosnia and Kosovo…
Probably as well handled as the failed Teheran Hostage Rescue and/or the “Blackhawk Down” incident in Somalia…

Is that why GDP went down 5.7% in the first quarter?

Michigan is getting shafted by the federal gov’t once again in the stimulus spending so far, but that’s what we are used to.

If you look at only certain “trees” in the “forest”, then yes, the economy has “turned”, but if you look at other “trees” in the “forest” it clearly is still going downhill.
For those “trees” that have turned that may be.
Obama and the democrats will take credit for all the good and blame Bush and Republicans for all the bad. That is a given.
But the purpose of all the spending is not to save the economy so “embracing the ‘recovery’” will not stop it in the least.
