CA Propositions

By PoliPundit ~ May 19th, 2009 @ 6:03 pm

Why wait for the final results when half the voting is already over?

24 Hours Until Voting Ends in CA Special Election, 5 of 6 Ballot Measures Fail: With half of votes cast and 24 hours remaining before voting ends on 6 state of California ballot propositions, 5 of 6 measures appear to be defeated, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for KABC-TV Los Angeles, KPIX-TV San Francisco, KGTV-TV San Diego, and KFSN-TV Fresno.

On Proposition 1A, The Rainy Day Budget Stabilization and Accountability Fund, opposition today is at 57%, up from from 29% when SurveyUSA began polling on the measure 60 days ago.

Proposition 1F, on Elected Officials’ Salaries, remains the one proposition with a chance to pass.

1A is a tax hike. 1F limits legislators’ salaries. Clearly, Californians aren’t happy with their tax-loving elected officials…

Perhaps Oak Leaf should have been in Chicago to join Ayers and Wright in a demonstration since he’s so pro Obama:

I am at a victory party but we don’t have TV and can’t find the results online. Would greatly appreciate it if people could put early results in comments.

Back home and winning 60-40 or better on 1A-1E!

We may fade below 60% on some as the early returns were the cranky absentee ballots, but this one is in the bag, boys! Woo-hoo!!!

    Today, Schwarzenegger. Tomorrow, Obama!

btw- if anyone has one of these census workers get a hold of you and you decide to actually talk to them, make sure you tell them you’re a Jedi Knight as you’re “religion.”

  7. invalid10

These census people are supposedly traipsing around on people’s property looking for doors and windows with their hand held GPS that is triangulated by satellites. They walk from place to place on your property marking all the entrances\exits.

Interesting. Arnold was in DC and not in California on the day of such an important vote.

These census people are supposedly traipsing around on people’s property looking for doors and windows with their hand held GPS that is triangulated by satellites. They walk from place to place on your property marking all the entrances\exits.

That probably explains what I saw a few weeks ago. Two guys were walking around the neighborhood. They were looking at all of the houses and had clip boards which they wrote stuff on. They would walk up to the doors and then turn around and go back. Then they would stand there and point and talk some more before moving along. Creeepy

  13. invalid10

BCL you can buy GPS jamming equipment and place it by your front door. I don’t know the legality of it though.

Also I’m still somewhat confused on the legality of refusing the census. I know it’s a 100 dollar fine, which is rarely enforced, but I am not sure if there is a criminal offense involved or just a fine.

If it’s just a low probability fine, then I bet a lot of people would opt out completely.

  14. invalid10

Ballot measures are generally a pretty good system I think. They seem to be a good way to decide tax issues, gay-marriage, etc.

    Maybe I’m missing the downside.

Who cares about the Census? It is Constitutional, it is needed for proper allocation of Representatives, and the data is used all throogh Gov’t and Industry. Knowing where people live is critical for building roads, schools, fire depts, etc.

What they are doing is putting a map spot on your front porch. The reason for this is that IF the person at that location DOESN’T send in their census form, the Census Taker can fing that location and obtain the Constitutionally authorized information.

These maps will be turned over to the National Archives along with any personal identifying information in 72 years.

If you want to “optout” of the census, by all means, please try- I want my State to have more representatives in Congress.

They either need to up your meds or limit your Computer access, Acroso- can you post your Ward Nurse’s email for me? Thanks.

    Poli-

I hate to bring it up, but you need to talk to your boy Oak:

[Mexican lover, I honestly hope that the financial markets have done so well by 2012 that Obama is re-elected. Hey, I am sure you will be in love with Obama when he proposes Amnesty later this year. I am sure you will be writing about it too. OL]

    followed by

[Far left, bull shit. You are the AMNESTY LOVER. Is their an illegal that you do not love? I am sure you cheered when the Supreme Court when all your illegal relatives got off. Why do you want to turn my country, a country that I have defended, into Tijuana? If Mexico and Mexicans is so lovely MOVE. OL]
These are from an earlier thread, “Green Shoots”, I believe.

I know I nor anyone else here has a say in the hows and whys of the way the site is administered, as we shouldn’t, it is yours. I only want you to be aware of what is occurring.

Comments like these are detrimental and used against everyone who is for controlling the border. These comments can be construed as racist in the extreme and xenophobic in the least.

His antics over the past year or so have really decreased traffic on what has long been a frequent hangout of mine and others. Hate to see what is happenning to the Polipundit corner of the blogosphere.

I’ve been hanging around here for about 6 or 7 years, I probably still will.
But I fear I am part of a dwindling minority.

If Poli was going to dump Oak he’d have done it by now. Poli is an open forum type of guy, and unbanned me after Oak banned me for calling him what was admittedly a ban-able term.

And Oak is after all, a combat vet, and it’s tough to tell those guys to Flock off after they have been under fire for watching our asses.

But Oak has gotten comfy with his bought-and-paid-for status, and is now nothing more than Obama’s pitbull waiting to be let off his leash.

  21. rightwingyahoo

Remember, not one post critical of Dems in 6 months. But several lauding or saluting him, and nearly every one bashing the GOP.

    But he’s non partisan, heh.

  22. BCL

And Oak is after all, a combat vet, and it’s tough to tell those guys to Flock off after they have been under fire for watching our asses.

It’s not about “those guys”, it’s about Oak Leaf. I don’t believe he served to watch our asses. He shows contempt for anyone that didn’t serve and that’s the majority of us.

  23. rightwingyahoo

I know, BCL. And you’re right.

I love how Oak is calling everyone who is stocking silver, gold and ammo a fool.

That would be like, oh, between 50 and 100 million Americans, including 90% of those whose side he professes to be on.
