Picture the following scenario: It’s World War II, US troops are dying by the thousand on distant battlefields. A US senator pipes up to say:
“We’ve got to ask, why is this man (Adolf Hitler) so popular around the world? Why are people so supportive of him in many countries … that are riddled with poverty?He’s been out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven’t done that.”
Imagine the outcry! Well, that’s exactly what Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) said yesterday, substituting Osama Bin Laden for Adolf Hitler. Don’t you think Murray should resign? If you do, let her know at senator_murray@murray.senate.gov
