Be sure to watch C-SPAN 2 today at 9 PM Eastern. Byron York says that all GOP senators will be in their seats as a symbolic display of their will to get Miguel Estrada through the Democratic filibuster.
UPDATE: Didn’t you love the way Republican senators stood up and posed questions to Orrin Hatch about Estrada’s fitness for the federal bench? Clearly, it was well managed political theater; but I couldn’t help standing back and admiring the sheer planning and execution of it. I hope Republicans continue to do this for the next few days until the Democrats cry uncle. You can tell the Democrats are terrified because the only Democrats who stood up and opposed Estrada are either on the judiciary committee (and voted against Estrada) or assured of re-election.
