Wisconsin Helmet Laws
Yesterday, I said that you’re definitely a political junkie if you chuckled at the following line from The Note:
It appears that the wearing of a helmet while riding a motorcycle is mandatory in Wisconsin only for those age 17 and younger. LINK
Some of you didn’t get it and wrote in to ask why that was funny. Well there are three answers.
For political junkies: John Kerry’s photo-op Harley ride in Wisconsin allowed him to show off his dazzling coif without wearing a helmet. You might have seen Kerry and bike if you watched ABC’s This Week or C-SPAN’s Road to the White House on Sunday.
For true political junkies: Former Wisconsin Governor and current HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson also rode a Harley to promote medicare improvements. Thompson wore a helmet. You could have seen his pictures on CNN’s Inside Politics.
For people who should be on Jeopardy: Harley-Davidson is based in Wisconsin.
