Texas Redistricting

Texas redistricting is proceeding apace. If all goes well, the state legislature could pass a map that adds 4-6 GOP members to the US House.

The new map has about 20 GOP-leaning districts, about the same as the old one. So why would it get more Republicans elected? Because some “moderate” Democratic incumbents, who give the Democrats their current 17-15 majority in the congressional delegation by winning Republican-leaning districts, would be forced to run in new Republican-leaning districts without the benefits of incumbency. Harvey Kronberg, of QuorumReport.com, explains in this video clip.
