So now that Congress has stolen $400 billion from young people and shovelled it down the gaping maws of America’s ever-whining “senior citizens,” are the oldies grateful? Not a chance. They’re whining even more! According to all the polls I’ve seen, a majority of seniors disapproves of the Medicare prescription drug bill. The only positive benefit for Republicans is that seniors are even more angry with Congressional Democrats than with Congressional Republicans.
If you’re repulsed by the idea of a Republican-controlled federal government passing such a huge boondoggle, you should join the Club for Growth. I’ve been a member for years now and they’ve built a stellar record of electoral success in getting fiscally conservative Republicans elected to both houses of Congress. Club-backed Congressmen stood up to incredible pressure from the Republican leadership and refused to vote for the prescription drug bill.
