Strong Economy Should Continue Throughout Entire Year

Yes, the “official” leading economic indicators came out yesterday; and they were very strong.

But, often the best leading economic indicators can be gleaned from corporate earnings announcements.

When a major, diversified manufacturing and industrial company — say, Ingersoll-Rand, for example — posts very strong earnings guidance, well, that bodes for a very strong economy. Of course, it also bodes ill for a national political candidate who is challenging a popular incumbent (hint, hint).
