Sense/Logic

My interest in politics began with my seventh grade civics class. One big assignment was to assemble a notebook of press clippings about the 1980 presidential campaign. Of course, I was bored as hell reading about Jimmy Carter and John Anderson. But I, like the rest of the country, became enthralled by Ronald Reagan.

Reagan had a sensible approach to the world. He saw things as they were, not how he wanted them to be. George W. Bush sees things much the same way.

To me, the sensible, logical way to fight terrorism is to hit the enemy before the enemy hits us. Pretty simple right?

To me, the sensible, logical way to jump start the economy is to cut taxes, so that people have more money in their pockets for discretionary spending. That way, people buy goods and services, there’s more supply and demand, more jobs are created and everyone wins.

To me, public schools should be teaching math and reading and making certain students are learning those subjects. Call me crazy, but I just don’t think art is nearly as important.

To me, abortion is not a political issue. It’s a moral issue. And sense and logic tell me that life begins at conception. So draw your own conclusion about my position.

Let’s talk.
