What Should Be a Media Scandal
The fact that the Putin announcement of last week was buried due to the beheading of Paul Johnson is somewhat understandable, although not entirely defensible, considering the importance of the revelation. To continue to ignore the Putin statement, however, in favor of coverage of items such as the “news” that Bill Clinton slept on the couch after Hillary learned the truth about Monica, should be a source of deep embarrassment to the media and outrage for the public.
If the Putin story got greater coverage (or any coverage at all in some cases) it would make it harder for the Bush haters to claim that Saddam posed no threat and that Bush lied to take us to war. I guess any story getting in the way of the Democrat’s favorite mantra is not going to get much play, no matter how significant it is. The Washington Times does a good job addressing the issue in an editorial today.
