The Joys Of The Instapundit Link

By Lorie Byrd ~ August 7th, 2004 @ 2:01 am

Many thanks to Instapundit’s Glenn Reynolds who has linked to two of my recent posts, as well as two of Polipundit’s recent posts. Since I am a guest blogger here at Polipundit, I don’t know “traffic” figures unless I specifically ask about them, as I often do when learning that Instapundit, NRO or Power Line has blessed me with a link, as they did this week. I have only been blogging for four months and just learned what an “Instalanche” was a couple of months ago. Needless to say, the traffic at any blog goes up considerably after receiving a link from one of the biggies, but beyond the raw numbers is the thought that possibly someone with influence in the media or political world might be reading.

The thought that some of my favorite writers and thinkers across the blogosphere might be reading something I wrote is both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. I have appreciated the complimentary words from other bloggers and those commenting at their sites, but one of the most fun things to come from the Instalink was being included in this McLaughlin Group satire by the Ace of Spades. I found it especially cool because I watched the McLaughlin Group way back in high school and even taught my 2 year old (who is now 7) to imitate McLaughlin’s trademark “Bye-bye”. So, as we bloggers like to say, read the whole thing.
