My take on Zell Miller’s speech initially was that it was too harsh and would turn off the all-important-though-idiotic swing voter. But Cheney’s masterfully dry speech provided enough of a contrast – and factual support – that the “spitball” quote is firmly ensconced in the contemptible-but-important swing-voter psyche.
