A *Hummer* of an Energy Policy Bill
The U.S. House of Representatives just passed comprehensive energy policy legislation. The bill contains such “environmentally-friendly” items as: ANWR drilling, offshore drilling, and various incentives to increase production of other fuel sources, including shale and nuclear power.
The breakdown of the vote was as follows:
Democrats voting in favor = 41
Republicans voting against = 22
Totals:
In favor = 249
Against = 183
Didn’t care = 3
Hmm, how, pray tell, does Karl Rove continue duping so many Democrats into voting in favor of the GOP’s legislative agendas???
In any event, now the matter will head to the U.S. Senate, and the inevitable conference procedure, during which time there no doubt will be much in the way of preening and posturing from the likes of trust-fund, limosuine-riding liberals, country club conservatives, and RINO media whores.
Heck, perhaps the Senate Democrats even will filibuster the final version of the energy bill, huh? Sure, one would presume they couldn’t possibly be that stupid — especially with high gas prices being such a hot-button topic these days — but Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle has pr…., oh, right, never mind.
P.S. – Here’s the liberal print media’s version of events.
