2006 Rhode Island Senate Race

According to a new poll, Senator Lincoln Chafee leads former Democratic State Attorney General Sheldon Whitehouse 41%-31%. He leads Secretary of State Matt Brown 44% to 27%.

Of course, this was commonly viewed as the most vulnerable Republican seat, next to Pennsylvania. It now looks as if Chafee, given the expected Democratic primary, could win re-election rather easily.
