Not Every Federal Judge Has a Cement Head

A federal judge has cleared the way for logging in Plumas National Forest, ruling against environmentalists who claimed the U.S. Forest Service provided an inadequate review of the project.

The decision Monday in U.S. District Court in Sacramento will allow loggers to start removing 40 million board feet of lumber . . . .

(Emphasis added.)

And there’s certainly another angle to this story germane to this blog:

Elections matter.

The particular jurist who issued that ruling, Morrison England, Jr. (to whom yours truly has presented several legal motions, BTW), was appointed by . . . George W. Bush.

And just imagine the political landscape in this country if and when the sole remaining bastions of leftism as public policy — the Ninth Circus U.S. Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court — get re-aligned with a few Scalia-type judges.

Yeah, those sounds you’ll be hearing, at that juncture, not only will consist of terrorists reeling, abortion clinics closing, chainsaws cutting, oil platforms drilling, assault weapons loading, and jail cells for rank criminals shutting (and then remaining shut), they’ll also consist of the far left:

Weeping!
